Thunderkick released Tutan Kha-boom in March 2026, and it's another entry into the very crowded cartoon Egyptian genre. But instead of the usual mechanics, it uses a quirky bottom-up connecting ways system. I've played it, and the main draw here is the free spins round, specifically, how it builds a "multiplier floor" that reminded me a lot of Temple of Akhet.

Three pharaohs stacked up the middle reel make a win here, because the ways read from the bottom row up, not left to right.

How the Multiplier Floor Actually Feels

The base game is decent enough: you have 99 connecting ways that read from the bottom row up. When you get a win, the symbols explode, new ones drop in, and consecutive drops double your multiplier.

A +1 SPINS label in the Tutan Kha-boom bonus, the ladder down to x32 with x64 still padlocked
Every third wild knocks the lowest step off the ladder and hands you a spin, so the floor only ever goes up. Here it's down to x32, with x64 still locked.

But the real action is in the bonus. You can trigger 10 free spins organically with three scatters, or buy in directly for 80x your bet. There are also four BET+ modes, where the price of every spin goes up to raise your trigger chances: Bonus Boost at 2x your stake for 4 times the chance, Bonus Boost Plus at 3x for 8 times, Bonus Boost Ultra at 5x for 16 times and Bonus Boost Extreme at 9x for 32 times. Using these pushes the RTP from the base 94.17% up to a max of 94.50%, which is a bit on the lower side for modern slots.

The four BET+ modes side by side: each one raises the price of every spin, from 2x the stake for Bonus Boost up to 9x for Extreme.

Inside the bonus, your whole goal is to collect Exploding Wilds. Every three wilds you collect removes the lowest multiplier from the ladder and gives you an extra spin. If you manage to collect 15 wilds, the x64 step at the top of the ladder unlocks. Between spins, your multiplier resets, but it only drops down to whatever "floor" you've unlocked. Basically, if you get your wilds early, the second half of your bonus is incredibly lucrative because every single cascade starts with a high multiplier.

My Bought Bonus Game

To see how this worked in practice, I bought the Bonus Game for 80x. It started out pretty rough. The first half of my spins only paid back about 16x, and I was getting a bit worried. But the wild collection was quietly doing its job in the background.

By the time I hit that 15th wild, my minimum multiplier was permanently stuck at x32. Those last few spins were crazy, one single spin paid out nearly 200x, and I walked away with a 491x total win. It was a great result (about 6x my buy-in), but it also made it glaringly obvious how much of the round sits on its last few spins. If the wilds don't come early to strip away the low multipliers, the bonus can stay as small as my first ten spins were. The math heavily relies on surviving until the end.

Once the 15th wild is in, x64 lights up, and even two five-row ways of the cheapest blue mummy pay 44.80x each.

How It Compares to Other Thunderkick Games

Several reviewers set this beside Thunderkick's Esqueleto Explosivo games because of the exploding avalanche they share, but Tutan Kha-boom stands on its own.

It's actually much closer to Temple of Akhet, which also uses that permanent multiplier floor mechanic. Tutan Kha-boom feels like a smaller Akhet: it has a lower max win (5,000x compared to 10,000x) and a cheaper buy (80x for the Bonus Game vs. 100x), while swapping a scatter-pays grid for the bottom-up ways.

You could also compare it to Serpentico Smash, another 5,000x max win Thunderkick game with a similar RTP and a slightly cheaper 75x buy. But Serpentico builds a global multiplier from crushed tiles, whereas Tutan doubles the multiplier per drop.

Tutan Kha-boom is a solid slot, rated medium volatility by the studio itself. The bottom-up avalanche is a fun twist, but make no mistake: this game is entirely dependent on that wild collection feature. If you like games that build up to a massive climax on the final few spins, it's definitely worth a look. Just keep an eye on your bankroll, because if the wilds don't land, those early spins can be thin.
