Holiday Ride's wild symbol is a red Italian Vespa that carries a random multiplier - 2x, 3x, or 5x. When multiple wilds land on the same winning payline, their multipliers add together. Two wilds at 5x each on a single line means a 10x multiplier applied to that win. Three wilds can push the combined multiplier even higher.
In the base game, wilds appear on all five reels and disappear after each spin like normal. Decent for occasional boosted payline hits, but the real action is in free spins where the wilds change behavior completely.
Three scatter symbols (they look like bees) on reels 1, 3, and 5 trigger the bonus. You pick from firework crates to reveal your free spins count - anywhere from 9 to 27. That's a wide range. Getting 27 spins is the dream scenario; 9 is the floor that still works because of what happens to the wilds.
During free spins, every Vespa wild that lands becomes sticky and starts roaming. Instead of disappearing, it moves to a random adjacent position each spin. It keeps its multiplier. By mid-round, you might have four or five Vespas scattered across the grid, each carrying 2x to 5x, moving around and landing on different paylines each spin. When two or three converge on the same line, those additive multipliers stack up fast.
The longer the round lasts, the more wilds accumulate. That's why 27 spins is worth chasing - more spins means more wilds on the grid simultaneously, more chances for multiple multipliers to align on the same payline.
Most Pragmatic Play slots with ante bet charge 25% extra for improved scatter frequency. Holiday Ride charges 40%. The bet level jumps from 25 to 35, a noticeable bump that makes each spin cost significantly more. In return, scatters appear more often on reels 1, 3, and 5. Whether the increased trigger rate justifies the extra 40% depends on your session length and bankroll strategy. The buy feature at 100x guarantees the trigger directly and gets disabled when ante is active - you pick one approach or the other.
This is a reskin. Pragmatic Play released Via Del Corso with identical mechanics, then repackaged it as Holiday Ride for the summer 2023 season. Same 25 paylines, same 96.56% RTP, same 5,000x cap, same Vespa wilds. The Italian holiday theme gets a brighter color palette - sunset oranges, Mediterranean streets, the Colosseum in the background, cartoon tourists with cameras. If you've played Via Del Corso, you're looking at the same math in a cheerier outfit.
The paytable runs eleven symbols from travel luggage and stamp postcards (premiums) down to bold 3D card royals (lows). Top premium pays 750 coins for five-of-a-kind, wild pays 1,000. At 25 paylines with additive multiplier wilds, the paytable itself doesn't generate huge hits. The multipliers do the lifting. A 5x + 5x + 3x wild combination on a premium five-of-a-kind payline is where 5,000x becomes visible.
Solid mechanics, proven engine, derivative execution. The roaming sticky wilds with additive multipliers work well on a payline format. Just don't expect anything you haven't seen if Via Del Corso is already in your rotation.
