Mr. Oinkster's Key to Riches Slot Overview

Mr. Oinkster is Booming Games' pig in a suit, and this time he runs the bank himself. The hook is the golden key he carries: the pig wild lands in one framed cell in the middle of the grid and nowhere else, and when he shows up he unlocks every gold Coin sitting on the reels and pays the lot at once.

Everything bends around that single move. Coins hold either small multipliers of the bet or one of four Prize Pots, from a 5x Mini up to a 1,000x Grand, and none of them are worth a penny until the pig arrives. The 40 fixed lines on the 5x3 grid are close to ceremonial by comparison, since five blue diamonds, the best symbol here, return 4x the bet.

This is the fourth Oinkster title and the first that isn't a hold-and-win. It's also the smallest of them, capped at 4,000x against the 12,000x on Hold and Win 10,000.

Theme & Design

The whole game sits inside a marble banking hall: domed ceiling, lit chandelier, a circular teller counter under a winged-pig medallion labelled BANK, a vault door on the right and DEPOSITS windows off to the left. Navy leather armchairs fill the foreground, close enough that you're apparently playing from the lobby furniture.

Two pink piggy banks perch on the gold reel frame above reels 2 and 4, one in a green bowler marked MULTIPLIER, one in a purple top hat with a gold star marked DOUBLE. Putting the bonus meters in plain sight above the grid is smart, because you always know what you're building. Down the left edge the four Prize Pot capsules stack in red, magenta, blue and green. Symbols split into chunky 3D cash objects (blue diamond, green cash case, red money bag, pink banknote bundles, gold coin piles) and gold-outlined royals in red, gold, green, blue and purple. Purple, gold and pink throughout, and the Coins with their padlock-and-chain faces read clearly even mid-spin. Cartoon heist rather than luxury vault.

Features & How They Work

Wild Coin Collect

The pig only ever appears in a designated Wild Reel position, and in the base game that is one cell, dead centre, outlined in gold so it's impossible to miss. He substitutes for every paying symbol except the Coin.

Land him there with any Coins showing on the reels and he unlocks all of them at once, adding up every value on the grid and paying the total. Multipliers and Prize Pots collect the same way. That is the engine, which is why this game is really built around one square rather than five reels.

Wild Nudge Modifier

A wild arriving on a Coin-free grid would be wasted, so the base game has a patch for it. When the pig lands and there is no Coin anywhere on the reels, the Wild Modifier can fire: it picks between one and five other positions and nudges each of them into either a Coin or a symbol that completes a winning line.

It runs in the base game only and is switched off during free spins.

Three versions of free spins

The two piggy banks decide what the bonus looks like, and they can fill separately or together.

Multiplier Free Spins is 6 spins with a random x2, x3 or x5 attached to the Wild Reel each spin, applied to whatever the pig collects on it. Double Free Spins is also 6 spins, but with two Wild positions live at once, at reel 2 row 2 and reel 4 row 2, and a wild in either one collects the whole grid. Combined Free Spins runs 12 spins with both rules stacked, so every Coin is collected by both wilds and each of those collections takes the multiplier. Coins can also turn up carrying +1 Spin, which extends the round.

Boost+ side bet

Boost+ adds 1.5x to the stake and raises the chance of the features triggering, including a better chance of the pig landing in the collect position. Wins are still calculated on the base bet rather than the boosted amount, so the extra outlay buys frequency and nothing else. The game's return is unchanged either way.

Mystery Bonus and Super Bonus

Two buys, both priced off the total bet. Mystery Bonus at 100x hands over free spins with any or all of the features, leaving the version up to chance. Super Bonus at 200x skips the guessing and buys the Combined round outright, the 12-spin one with two wilds and a multiplier running together.

Neither buy is penalised on return, which is not how most studios price a bought bonus.

How Mr. Oinkster's Key to Riches Plays

The base game reads at a glance, which is rarer than it sounds. Count the Coins on the grid, look at the framed centre cell, and you know inside a second whether the spin mattered. Coins without the pig are dead weight, a pig without Coins gets the nudge treatment instead, and the spins that actually pay are the ones where both turn up together.

That clarity costs you a quiet middle. Long stretches come back with a J-and-10 line win worth a fraction of the stake, and you'll likely watch plenty of Coins slide off the grid uncollected before the key turns. Even the Grand is a 1,000x prize on a game capped at 4,000x, so the single biggest hit still leaves three quarters of the ceiling untouched.

Session rhythm depends a lot on Boost+. Leave it off and the piggy banks fill slowly. Switch it on and you're paying half again per spin for a shorter road to the bonus with no bigger payout waiting at the end of it. For my money that toggle is the more interesting decision in this game, more so than the buy menu.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • One wild position in the base game makes every spin readable before it finishes resolving
  • Three distinct free spins versions, with the piggy banks showing which one is building
  • Neither bonus buy is penalised on return, which is rare
  • The 1,000x Grand pot can be collected in the base game, no bonus needed

Cons

  • Line pays are close to decoration: five blue diamonds return 4x the bet
  • 4,000x is the lowest ceiling of the four Mr. Oinkster games
  • Boost+ costs half again per spin and buys trigger frequency only, never a bigger win
  • No published volatility, hit frequency or release date yet

Is Mr. Oinkster's Key to Riches Worth Playing?

6/10

Booming got the focus right. One wild, one cell to watch, and a Coin economy that carries the whole game instead of riding on top of a hold-and-win grid the way it does everywhere else in this series. The three-way bonus split helps as well, because the piggy banks make the round you're heading towards visible while you play.

Where it falls short is reach. The ceiling is low for a game that dangles a four-tier pot ladder in front of you, the return sits under the 96% mark, and a run of spins with no Coins on the grid pays close to nothing. No volatility figure has been published, though a 1,000x Grand on a 40-line game is not the profile of a gentle grinder.

The pig is good company, the bank lobby is nicely drawn, and this is easier to follow than most coin-collect slots. It just doesn't climb very high.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the RTP of Mr. Oinkster's Key to Riches?

95.8%. The same figure covers the base game, both bonus buys and the Boost+ side bet, so nothing is shaved off for buying in.

What is the maximum win?

4,000x the bet. If a round reaches that limit the active feature ends and 4,000x the base bet is paid. The largest single Coin value, the Grand pot, is 1,000x.

How do you trigger the free spins?

By filling one or both of the piggy banks above reels 2 and 4. The MULTIPLIER bank gives 6 spins with a random x2, x3 or x5 on the Wild Reel, the DOUBLE bank gives 6 spins with two wild positions, and both together give the 12-spin Combined round.

Are the Mini, Minor, Major and Grand pots progressive jackpots?

No. They are fixed multiples of the base bet at 5x, 10x, 50x and 1,000x, and nothing accumulates between rounds. The four-tier ladder looks like a jackpot display, but the cash values only move when you change your bet.

Is this game suitable for players under 18?

No. Slots are for adults aged 18 or over, and 21 in some countries. The demo runs on play money, but the same age rules apply and real-money play should stay inside limits set in advance.
