About Stash & Grab Locked Up Links Slot
Third entry in the Stash and Grab line, and the first to lock the cast up. The original Stash and Grab ran a straightforward cat-burglar heist; this one picks up after the job's gone wrong. Reels sit in front of a graffiti-streaked prison wall, tally marks scratched into the paint, a rat reads a magazine on an overturned toilet with the "1024 WAYS" ticker rolling off as toilet paper, and a poster of the woman in red watches from inside the cell. The premiums lean into the bit: a pink frosted cake with an explosive baked in, chained handcuffs, a bar of yellow soap on a rope, and the gold Stash & Grab logo up top.
Wilds are absent from reel one. That's not unusual for a Light & Wonder 1024-ways build, but it does mean the leftmost reel is always doing the symbol-matching work on its own. Where this game actually separates from its siblings is what happens to those wilds inside the bonus. Three or more Bonus bags trigger Free Spins, and from that point every wild that lands stays put for the rest of the round as a Persisting Wild. The catch is that wilds visible at the moment of trigger don't carry over. The bonus reels start clean, and your sticky board has to be built from scratch.
The Free Spins don't run on a counter either. They keep going until a single reel-win clears the Minimum Multiplier shown on the trail above the grid. Trigger with 3 bags and that opening threshold is x20, with x100 as the ceiling. Four bags starts you at x30, five bags at x50 with x200 sitting at the top. Keys appear in any position during the round and crank the threshold higher: on a 3-bag trigger every two keys unlocks the next multiplier step, on a 4 or 5-bag trigger the first step needs four keys before the every-two rhythm kicks in. So more keys means longer bonus runtime, not bigger guaranteed pay.
Here's where the two mechanics fight each other. Persisting Wilds block key collection. A sticky wild sitting in a position prevents any key from being collected from that tile, so the same feature that builds your guaranteed pay potential is also the feature shortening your runway. Stack the wilds early and you cap your bonus length faster. Hold off and the multiplier trail stays low. There's a Buy Pass button on the left rail for anyone who'd rather skip to that tension directly, and Turbo gets locked out the moment Free Spins begin.
