A 7x7 cluster grid mounted in the side of an ice-cream van, with a conveyor of multiplier wilds running above it from x2 all the way up to x101. Every avalanche pulls the next one onto the board, and in free spins the belt stops resetting between spins, which is the only realistic route to the 3,580x ceiling.

101 Candies Slot Overview
A candy shop crossed with an ice-cream van, and a conveyor belt of multiplier wilds running along the top of the grid. The belt is the point of the whole thing. Every avalanche pulls the leftmost wild off it and plants that wild somewhere on the 7x7 cluster grid, and since the belt is loaded in ascending order from x2 up to x101, the only question a round ever asks is how far along it you get.
The base paytable is almost nothing. Five matching low candies pay 0.05x. Twelve of the best pay 30x, and that is the biggest single cluster in the game. So every win of any size is really a wild multiplier win, which is a strange way to build a slot, though it does give the avalanche chains a purpose beyond padding.
NetEnt put this out in 2023 with a 96.08% RTP, medium-low volatility and a 3,580x ceiling. Wins land on roughly one spin in four. Gentle numbers, and the game plays exactly as gently as they suggest.
Theme & Design
The van is parked in bright green countryside under a cartoon blue sky, white and candy-pink bodywork framing a deep purple board mounted in the serving hatch. Through the open door there is a jar of striped lollipops on the counter. A glass fishbowl marked TOTAL WIN sits to the right catching the round's winnings, a bunch of orange, pink, blue, yellow and mint balloons floats beside it, and a chalkboard propped against the van advertises the best candies in the... well, the frame cuts off the rest. Above the grid, five pastel jars with little blue bows on their lids carry the wilds, each stamped with its multiplier, and a purple striped x101 badge sits at the far end of the track like a finish line.
The sweets are glossy and well lit: foil-wrapped humbugs in green, pink and blue for the high pays, with loose gumdrops, red jelly beans, blue cones, green rings and mint swirls underneath. Pretty, and flat. Across 49 tiles the pink wrapped high pay and the pink swirl low pay read almost identically at a glance, which matters in a candy game where spotting clusters fast is the entire visual job. The four Feature Coins are plain gold discs with pictograms stamped on them, and they look like placeholder art that nobody came back to.

Features & How They Work
Cluster Pays and Avalanches
Wins need five or more matching candies touching horizontally or vertically, anywhere across the 49 positions. Two separate clusters of the same candy pay separately, and simultaneous wins add together. Winning symbols clear, everything above drops down, and the chain repeats until a drop pays nothing. Ordinary avalanche behaviour on its own, except here every link in the chain also earns a wild.
The Wild Conveyor
Five wild jars are visible at a time on the belt above the grid, and they climb: x2, x5, x8, x10, x12 at the start, with larger ones queued behind. Each avalanche takes the leftmost jar, drops that wild onto a random position (never over a Scatter or another wild) and only then evaluates the win. Multipliers inside one cluster are added, not multiplied, which is the rule most people get wrong. Three wilds at x5, x8 and x10 in the same cluster give x23, not x400. A wild caught inside two different clusters applies its multiplier to both.
The reset rule decides everything. In the base game the belt snaps back to the start on every spin, so a round climbs only as far as its own avalanche chain carries it, which is usually two or three jars. In free spins it resets once at the very beginning and then never again. And the belt cannot actually run dry: once the queue empties, the game keeps topping it up with fresh x101 wilds, which is where the name comes from.
Four Feature Coins
At most one coin lands per avalanche, and it resolves the moment it appears, before the next wild is fed in. Upgrade adds +1 to every multiplier still waiting on the belt, capped at x101. Destroy bins the five leftmost wilds, which reads as punishment and is nothing of the sort: the belt runs in ascending order, so throwing out the five smallest jars fast-forwards straight to the big ones. Scramble shuffles the belt and breaks that ascending order, the only route by which an x101 turns up early. Transform picks a random candy on the board and converts every copy of it into one other candy, which is the cluster builder of the four.
Free Spins
Three Scatters award 10 free spins, with each extra Scatter adding one more, up to 15 for eight. Scatters landing mid-avalanche count towards the tally, and the total is only taken once the round has finished paying, so a long chain can quietly upgrade the trigger. Nothing else changes inside the feature apart from the belt no longer resetting, and ten to fifteen uninterrupted spins is the only realistic road to the upper multipliers.
Buy Feature at 100x
The buy costs 100x the bet and works oddly: rather than dropping straight into the feature it plays one base spin that is guaranteed to trigger. Whatever Scatter count that spin produces decides whether the round is 10 spins or 15, so the price is fixed and the prize is not. Buying also runs at 96.05% RTP against the 96.08% base, so it shaves a sliver off the return as well.

How 101 Candies Plays
Sessions here are quiet. Something pays often enough, but most of it is worth less than the spin that produced it, and the balance drifts down in small steps rather than falling in chunks. Low risk, low noise, and not much drama.
Whatever tension exists belongs entirely to the belt. Watching a chain run four or five avalanches deep, each one pulling a bigger jar onto the board, is the one moment the game reliably has, and that x101 badge parked at the end of the track is a standing reminder of somewhere ordinary spins almost never reach. Free spins change the temperature completely, because each spin starts richer than the last instead of back at square one. It probably needed that contrast to work as a game at all.
The awkward part is the ceiling. A x101 wild is landing in clusters worth 30x at their absolute best, so even a strong feature round finishes a long way short of the headline. 3,580x, on a game that waves a hundredfold multiplier around all session, feels miscalibrated.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- The Wild Conveyor is an original mechanic, and the ascending order gives every avalanche a reason to matter
- Free spins play completely differently from the base game rather than just lasting longer
- 96.08% is the best RTP build available, and the soft volatility keeps a bankroll alive
- Destroy and Scramble are smarter than they look, both accelerating the belt instead of padding it
Cons
- Base clusters pay almost nothing without a wild attached to them
- 3,580x looks small for a game built around x101 multipliers
- Slow, low-energy pacing even by cluster-slot standards
- Rushed-looking art, with several candies too similar to separate quickly across 49 tiles
Is 101 Candies Worth Playing?
The Wild Conveyor deserved a better game around it. A belt that climbs from x2 to x101 and feeds exactly one wild per avalanche is a clean idea with an obvious hook, and NetEnt clearly knew it was the whole selling point. Everything built around it is undercooked. The art is the cheap kind, the base paytable is so thin the mechanic has to carry the entire game on its own, and the summed multipliers keep even the good rounds modest.
What is left is a low-key cluster grinder with one strong trick and a free spins round worth reaching. That is not nothing. It is still thinner than NetEnt has any business releasing under its own name.
