The "Book of" formula has been cloned dozens of times since Book of Ra set the template. Zeusplay's take adds a sixth reel. Amuns Book HD 6 plays on a 6x3 grid with 10 fixed paylines, keeping the classic structure but stretching it wider. One extra reel means six-of-a-kind pays, and those numbers get large.
Adding a sixth reel reshapes the entire paytable. The explorer symbol pays 750x bet for six of a kind - that's three times the 250x you'd get for five. Even the mid-tier scarab and Anubis symbols jump to 100x for six matches. Card symbols (A through 10) range from 25x to 37.5x for a full six-reel line.
The Book of Amun acts as both wild and scatter, same as every game in this genre. Three or more books anywhere on the reels trigger 10 free spins. Land 3+ books during free spins and you retrigger another 10 with no cap on repeats.
When free spins start, one symbol is randomly selected as the special expanding symbol. When that symbol lands and forms part of a winning combination, it expands to cover the entire reel. On a 6-reel grid, this means up to 18 positions can be filled by the expanding symbol if it lands across all six reels.
The expanding symbol also pays on any position along a payline, not just adjacent positions. So if the explorer is selected and appears on reels 1, 3, and 5, those three reels expand fully and the game counts all valid combinations across the 10 paylines. With a 6-reel layout, these free spin rounds can produce significantly larger hits than the standard 5-reel "Book of" games.
Only one special symbol is active per free spin trigger. That's where this version differs from the HD Deluxe, which stacks up to 9 expanding symbols across retriggers.
RTP is 95.15%, which sits below the Book of Dead's 96.21% and below Zeusplay's own HD Deluxe variant at 96.24%. For a game that relies on free spins for its payouts, that gap matters. Base game wins are modest since 10 paylines on a 6-reel grid means most spins won't connect - you need symbols spanning at least three consecutive reels from the left, and the wider grid dilutes that probability.
The visual presentation is competent Egyptian slot fare - golden columns, hieroglyphs, warm sandy tones. Nothing that breaks new ground, but clean HD assets that look polished on modern screens.
Amuns Book HD 6 doesn't reinvent the genre. It takes the proven Book of mechanic, adds one reel, and lets the math do the rest. The 750x top pay and unlimited retriggers give it a higher ceiling than most 5-reel Book clones, but the below-average RTP and single expanding symbol keep it in the middle of the pack. If you want the extra reel drama, this delivers. If you want the full package, the HD Deluxe version with multi-symbol expansion is the stronger choice.
