Blockers fill the outer edges of the 6x8 grid, and they only break when a winning symbol lands adjacent to them. So the playfield starts cramped and opens gradually through avalanche chains - each cascade clears more stone positions, and the grid you're playing on five avalanches deep looks nothing like the one you started with. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the board count as a win regardless of position, and the paytable scales all the way up to 15-of-a-kind. More open cells means more symbols in play, which means bigger scatter pay counts.

Two flavors of multiplier symbol land on the grid. Wilds come in 1x1, 2x2, and 3x3 sizes, and the large ones count as 9 individual wilds for scatter purposes. Charged Wilds survive up to 3 winning combinations before clearing, which helps sustain avalanche chains without fresh drops. Three active Bonus symbols trigger 10 free drops - "active" meaning a winning symbol has to land vertically adjacent to turn them on first. Retriggering adds 5 or 10 more drops depending on how many bonus symbols activate. Ashoka Eternal followed this game and swapped scatter pays for cluster mechanics, but the original's blocker system still gives it a different feel - you're literally excavating the grid to build toward those 15-symbol payouts.
