About Book of Shadows Slot

Pick how many rows you want before the first spin. Three rows give you ten win lines, four rows bump to fifteen, five rows to twenty. Each added row costs more per spin, so the row count is essentially a built-in bet booster instead of a separate side toggle. Hit the upper-reel slots to activate them and the math scales with you. This is the only Nolimit City game where the grid itself is a variable the player controls.

The Book of Shadows symbol does double duty. It pays as a Wild substitute and counts as a Scatter at the same time, so three of them land Free Spins regardless of where they sit on the reels. Spin count tiers with whatever row config triggered the round: 6-10 spins from a 3-row trigger, 8-12 from 4 rows, 10-14 from 5 rows. A single golden symbol is picked at the start of the round and expands to cover its entire active reel whenever it contributes to a win - the classic Book-style expansion mechanic, lifted from Book of Ra and Book of Dead, then dropped into the studio's grid framework. You get one free reshuffle if the random pick lands on something weak, and the optimal play is to reshuffle anything outside the top five paying symbols. Three more Books during the round retrigger.

Lucky Locks is the unusual one. You can lock up to four reels in place and re-spin the unlocked ones with an adjusted bet, but the engine refuses to let you lock a position that has zero winning potential left on screen. Locking two Scatters is the strongest play here, better odds than any other lock combination. The Gamble module sits on top of every win: 50/50 Double or Nothing for cash, or a Wheel of Bonus that wagers your win against the Free Spins feature itself. Wheel of Bonus eligibility caps at a multiple of your bet, so you can't gamble a massive win straight into the bonus round.

Seven separate buy options ladder through the menu. A direct Free Spins buy sits at the cheap end. Boosting the base bet to lock 4 or 5 Shadow Rows in advance costs more. Direct Free Spin buys per row tier climb higher. Lucky Locks tops the menu as the steepest entry of all. That's the most complex buy ladder in the studio's catalogue, and the only one that mixes base-game bet boosts with feature buys in the same panel.

The reel frame is a dark stone temple wrapped in barbed wire and thorn branches, with Book of Shadows carved across a header tablet. Background sits in a misty haunted forest with dead trees, smoke and embers drifting between the branches. A young witch with a red bandana and a cross brand on her forehead pays as the top symbol, alongside an eye floating in a blue potion flask and a horned ram skull. Low pays are A K Q J 10 in dripping blood typography, the red runs all the way down each tile. The 30,338x ceiling pairs with the Extreme volatility badge, which means the math wants you in the buy menu more than the base game. Adjacent to that side of the studio's horror catalogue but lighter on the gore than its slasher entries.
