The royals let it down. J, Q, K and A in chunky gold deco capitals take four of the nine paying slots, and on a grid this small they are on screen almost constantly. The background never moves either.

It plays fast and flat. Nine positions, five lines, three of a kind or nothing, so there is no near-miss tease and no anticipation reel to sit through. The grid stops and you already know. Wins land often enough, and plenty of them come in under the stake, which is the shape of a low-volatility classic and exactly how it feels in the hand.

So everything points at the wheel, and the wheel is a fork you do not control.
