Play'n GO raided five different mythologies for Chambers of Ancients. Egyptian Eset, Chinese Caishen, Hindu Ganesha, Greek Athena, Norse Thor - all sit on the same 5x3 grid with 10 paylines. Each god carries their own colored key and guards their own bonus chamber. The hierarchy runs from Eset (weakest) to Thor (strongest), and the coin values inside each chamber reflect that ranking.
The base game looks conventional. Five low-pay symbols all sharing identical 5x/1x/0.5x payouts, five god symbols ranging from 10x to 30x for five-of-a-kind, and a Wild paying 40x that expands to cover its entire reel. Standard left-to-right wins. Nothing unusual until the keys start appearing.
Every spin, gods can drop their colored keys alongside regular symbols. Collect three or more identical keys on a single spin and that god's chamber opens. Land three master keys (delivered by Wild symbols) and all five chambers open in sequence - Eset first, Thor last. You can trigger multiple chambers from different key types in one spin.
During free spins, the key frequency spikes. All gods wear masks and generate keys at much higher rates. Wilds also produce keys. This is where multi-chamber triggers become realistic instead of theoretical.
Each chamber plays on a separate 3x3 grid. You get 3 spins. Any coin landing on the grid resets the counter back to 3. Fill all 9 positions and the coins get collected, cleared, and the counter resets - letting you fill the grid again within the same chamber session.
The coin values scale with the god's rank. Eset's chamber holds value coins worth 0.1x to 0.5x bet, plus Eset God coins at 2.5x. Thor's chamber ranges from 1x to 5x, with Thor God coins paying 25x. That's a 10x difference between the weakest and strongest chamber on base coin values alone.
Five special coin types can land inside any chamber, and they activate in a fixed sequence: Mystery first, then Value Booster, Single Multiplier, Multiplier, Collector last. The order matters because each one builds on the previous.
Mystery coins reveal themselves as either a special or God coin. Value Booster picks a random value and adds it to an existing coin. Single Multiplier applies 2x, 3x, 4x, or 8x to one specific coin. Multiplier doubles every coin value currently on the 3x3 grid. Collector removes all value coins and sums their values into a single payout.
Stacking these in Thor's chamber is where the 20,000x lives. A grid full of 5x value coins getting hit by a Multiplier (now 10x each), then a Single Multiplier on the best one (40x or 80x), with a Thor God coin at 25x sitting in the corner. The activation sequence means later coins amplify what earlier coins already set up.
Three scatter masks award 8 free spins. Four give 10, five give 12. Retriggerable. The critical change during free spins: every god generates keys at an elevated rate and every Wild contributes master keys. A single good free spins sequence can open three or four chambers, sometimes all five.
The master key trigger - three master keys opening all five chambers in order - is the dream scenario. You play through Eset (small coins), Caishen (slightly better), Ganesha (mid), Athena (good), and finally Thor (big). Each chamber session adds to your total. Even if the early chambers produce modest returns, Thor at the end can compensate.
Eset's chamber feels like a waste of time. Coins worth 0.1x to 0.5x on a 3x3 grid, even with special coins, rarely produce meaningful returns. Caishen's 0.2x-1x range isn't much better. You're essentially playing warm-up rounds before reaching the chambers that matter. If you trigger only Eset or Caishen in the base game, the payout often barely covers the spins you burned getting there. The game rewards patience and luck in reaching the upper chambers - Athena and Thor are where the excitement actually sits.
