Donny Dough replaces traditional wilds with Multi-Dough symbols - Donny's face stamped on gold coins. Four variants exist. Adding symbols carry flat values from 1x to 10x your bet. Revealing Adding symbols land hidden behind question marks and flip to show 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, or 500x. Then there are Multiplying symbols (x2 through x5) and Revealing Multiplying symbols (x6 through x25).
When Multi-Dough symbols sit on a winning payline, their values combine using Hacksaw's LOOTLINES calculation. Adding values get summed left to right. Multiplying values multiply the running total. So a line reading x3, 4x, 1x, x2 pays (3+4+1) times 2 = 16x your bet. A Multiplying symbol on reel 1 gets treated as an Adding value instead, which prevents multipliers from sitting in the first position where they'd multiply nothing.
The mental math during each spin is part of the appeal. You're scanning paylines, adding values, spotting where multipliers land - it turns every Multi-Dough appearance into a quick puzzle.
Three scatter symbols award 10 free spins. Every Multi-Dough symbol that lands becomes sticky on the grid and stays there until it forms part of a winning LOOTLINES payline. Once a payline connects, those symbols clear on the next spin.
The strategy implications are backwards from what you'd expect. You want Multi-Dough symbols stacking across reels 2 through 5 without connecting yet - building up a grid full of values. Then a single Multi-Dough on reel 1 links everything at once for a massive combined payout. Winning too early clears your sticky symbols before enough value accumulates.
Retriggering adds 2 spins for two extra scatters, 4 spins for three. Those extra spins give more time for the grid to fill before connections form.
Four scatters trigger the Strike Gold Bonus - also 10 free spins but with a different mechanic. Every time a Multi-Dough symbol wins on a payline, a light bulb lights up above that reel. Each reel holds up to 4 bulbs. When Donny's Hat symbol lands, it triggers a re-spin that places new Multi-Dough symbols on reels according to how many bulbs are lit above them.
Donny's Hat is guaranteed to appear on the final spin. So the entire bonus becomes about lighting as many bulbs as possible before that last spin fires. A fully lit board (20 bulbs across 5 reels) means the final re-spin drops Multi-Dough symbols everywhere.
This was the beginning of what became Hacksaw's Cash Kings franchise. Danny Dollar followed as the second entry, then Donny & Danny brought both characters together, and Donny & Danny Cash Kings Forever made it a four-game series. The Lootlines mechanic and the showman theme carried through each sequel.
The game show wrapping works. Purple curtains, spotlights, Donny with dollar signs for eyes and a top hat - it has personality without trying too hard. Low symbols are gem-encrusted card suits, highs are character portraits. The 30% hit frequency keeps base game sessions active, though most hits are small Multi-Dough connections. Bigger payouts need the bonus rounds where symbols stack and compound. No traditional wild or scatter-pays here - everything flows through the LOOTLINES pipe, and that singular focus gives the game a clear identity even among Hacksaw's crowded roster.
