About Emperor's Gold Slot
Your stake decides which game you are playing. Bet under $2 and the pay table is one thing; push to $2 or above and the same wins suddenly pay roughly ten times more. The hit rate does not move, only the size of each payout does, which is how the higher return gets delivered without changing how often the reels land for you. Once you understand that, the rest of Light & Wonder's Barcrest engine here makes sense.
The symbol that does the heavy lifting is a DRAGON wild, and it only ever shows on the middle three reels. When it lands it stretches to cover the whole reel, so you get a full-height expanding wild column locked into the center of the grid. Below $2 it stands in for everything but the medallion scatter. At $2 and up it covers the scatter too, which quietly makes the trigger easier at the higher pay table.
The free spins are where this one earns its keep. Land three, four or five of the gold double-happiness medallions and you get 12, 14 or 20 spins. The clever part: all the picture symbols on the reels collapse into a single chosen paying symbol for the round, and every Dragon that drops bumps that symbol one rung UP the value ladder. So the longer the round runs, the more valuable the one symbol you are being paid for becomes, climbing toward the tiger and panda art at the top. Extra Dragons and extra scatters hand you more spins on top.
If you would rather force the issue, the Big Bet menu sells three fixed entries at $20, $30 and $50, each five linked spins with sticky expanding Dragons that persist across all five. The $30 layers in a Super Bonus Trail and the $50 a Mega Bonus Trail, both running at the top return tier. Visually it is a festive Chinese red-and-gold affair, neon royals beside painted beasts, a red temple gate and a hanging lantern set against silhouetted peaks under a burning sunset. The cash ceiling is a hard 250,000-credit cap.
