Fortune of Wu Kong is a Monkey King slot built on a grid barely bigger than a classic fruit machine, where the bonus arrives because a cartoon monkey decides it should. No scatter to count. No meter to fill. The little armoured Wu Kong wanders in on a random base spin, flies over to the red pot beside the reels and smacks it, and whatever falls out reshapes the following spin.

Symbol art is split. The gold ingot on its red cushion, the pink lotus and the trio of ribbon-tied coins are nicely drawn. The A, K, Q and J are colour-coded slabs with a faint wave pattern behind them, and on nine cells they take up a lot of room. Anyone who has played a Far Eastern slot in the last decade will recognise every piece of this, and it is cheerful rather than ambitious.

Three reels means every win is a three-of-a-kind, and that changes the texture more than expected. There is no two-symbol consolation pay in the game at all, so the grid either does nothing or it returns at least 2x the whole stake. Losing spins feel properly empty and small hits register as actual hits, which is not something most modern grids manage.

What is missing is the slow burn. Nothing counts up between spins, nothing teases, no third scatter drifting into view on the last reel. The tension sits entirely in whether the monkey turns up, and the moment he hits the pot the outcome is already labelled before the reels move again. So it runs in jolts: flat, flat, flat, one loaded spin, flat again. Fine for a quick blast on a phone, and it will probably wear thin over a longer sitting.

Multi Spin is the one that deflates. A x20 attached to a spin that lands nothing is still nothing, and across five lines on nine cells that happens often enough to sting.

Strip the monkey out and what is left is a five-line three-reeler that pays 2x for three jacks. The random layer is the reason to load it, and it does the job: three distinct one-spin modifiers, all three purchasable, dropped into a game that would otherwise be a spin button and nothing else. Bonus Spin is the good one, and where the buy is available, going straight to it skips a lot of waiting.

Depth is what it lacks. Nothing carries over between spins, no round lasts longer than one, and after ten minutes with all three modifiers seen there is nothing further to find. It is bright and quick and cheap to play, and it is finished with you sooner than most. Enough for a short sitting, and fairly honest about being exactly that.
