Fruits & Stars 40 Christmas Slot Overview

A pub fruit machine with tinsel on it. Fazi moved its 40-line fruit slot into a snowy blue room hung with baubles and pine branches, kept every symbol where it was, and called it Christmas.

The thing to know before loading it is that there's no bonus round. No free spins, no wheel, no pick. What the gold star does instead is pay from any position on the grid, and that win gets added on top of whatever the paylines already returned, so a spin with four stars scattered around plus a couple of fruit lines is as close as this gets to a moment. Five stars anywhere is worth 500x.

Underneath run three mystery jackpots, Gold, Diamond and Platinum, which land at a hidden random point rather than off any combination. RTP is 95.79%, quoted before the jackpot contribution adds its fraction of a percent back. Medium volatility, 1,000x ceiling.

Theme & Design

The backdrop is a wall of pale blue star silhouettes in tidy rows, with snow crusted along the top and bottom edges of the reel frame and pine branches pushing in from both sides, hung with red and yellow baubles and flat gold five-pointed stars. Two snow-capped plaques reading 40 LINES sit either side of the grid. The reels themselves are dark ribbed teal, which makes the fruit pop harder than it does on most machines of this kind.

Symbols are big, glossy and cartoon-flat: a lime-green lemon, two red cherries on a curved green stem, a purple plum with a single leaf, a halved watermelon, an orange with a tiny green flower at the stalk, and a gold bell with a red band around it. The star scatter is a fat gold five-point with a second, lighter star embossed inside. Everything reads instantly at a glance, which is the main job on a grid this busy. The art is flatter and cheaper-looking than the non-festive Fruits and Stars line though, and the red 7 wild sits awkwardly among the fruit like it wandered in from a different cabinet.

Features & How They Work

The Gold Star Scatter

The star pays on count alone, wherever it lands. Three anywhere returns 5x, four returns 20x, five returns 500x, and none of it depends on reel position or an active line. Its win is added to the line wins from the same spin rather than replacing them, so a scatter hit on a spin that also paid fruit lines stacks. This is the only symbol in the game capable of a serious return.

Red 7 Wild

The red 7 substitutes for every fruit to complete a line and pays on its own as the top regular symbol: 25x for five, 10x for four, 1x for three. It doesn't expand, doesn't stack, doesn't carry a multiplier and doesn't do anything clever when two land together. It substitutes and it pays, and that's the whole of it.

Adjustable Paylines, 1 to 40

Lines are set with a counter in the bottom bar, anywhere from 1 to the full 40, and wins run left to right from reel one on adjacent reels along whichever lines are switched on. Only the highest win pays per line, and multiple line wins on one spin are added together. Bet per line runs 0.01 to 1.20, which puts the total stake between 0.40 and 48.00 with all 40 lines active.

Three Mystery Jackpots

Gold, Diamond and Platinum cycle through a single meter in the bottom-left corner. Each is fed a percentage of every bet placed across the network and each awards at a random trigger point, so there's no combination to line up and no warning. Platinum is the small one, paying out somewhere around 100 to 150, Gold sits in the 400 to 500 band, and Diamond is the one worth waiting for, with recent awards in the 13,000 to 17,000 range. Chance of triggering scales with stake size, which means the minimum-bet player is realistically playing for Platinum and nothing else.

Gamble (Red or Black)

Any win can be sent to the double-up card. Call red or black correctly and the win doubles, call it wrong and the whole thing is gone and the round ends. It can be repeated up to a 50,000 limit. It also interrupts autoplay when a win comes in, which is worth knowing before setting a long run going.

How Fruits & Stars 40 Christmas Plays

It plays like the machine in the corner of a bar, which is either the appeal or the problem depending on your mood. Forty lines at a penny each means something lands often and most of it comes back under the stake. Nothing fills up. Nothing builds toward anything. You spin, you collect a few cents, you spin again.

That flatness pushes all the tension into two places. One is the star, since any spin that drops three or more of them rewrites the arithmetic for that spin and only that spin. The other is the jackpot number ticking upward at the bottom of the frame, entirely outside your control except through bet size. For a lot of players that ticking number is the actual reason to sit there, and for my money it probably does more work than anything happening on the reels.

Medium volatility is an honest label here. Balances drift rather than swing, long dry runs are rare and so are the spikes, and it takes autoplay well precisely because so little happens that needs watching.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Gold star scatter pays from anywhere and adds to line wins instead of replacing them
  • Three mystery jackpots can land on any spin with no combination required
  • Lines drop as low as 1 and bets start at 0.40, so a small balance stretches a long way
  • Big, clean symbols that read instantly on a busy background

Cons

  • 95.79% RTP sits well under the modern average
  • No free spins, no bonus round and no buy option, so the base game is the entire game
  • Jackpot chance scales with stake, which shuts low rollers out of the Diamond prize
  • The festive art is an overlay on the existing 40-line game rather than a new build

Is Fruits & Stars 40 Christmas Worth Playing?

5/10

Fazi built this for a specific slot in a specific place: the Christmas lobby page of an operator, sat next to twenty other snowy reskins, meant to be spun casually and never studied. On those terms it works. The star scatter is a sound idea, paying from anywhere and adding to lines rather than competing with them, and a 0.01 minimum per line makes it genuinely cheap to sit with for an hour.

What holds it back is the 95.79% return and the fact that there's nothing to chase except a jackpot trigger you can't see coming. Five stars pays 500x, half the 1,000x ceiling, so approaching the top means catching that alongside a grid full of fruit lines on the same spin. The gamble card is the only lever a player actually pulls, and flipping a coin on a 40-cent win is thin compensation for a missing feature round.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum win in Fruits & Stars 40 Christmas?

1,000x your total bet. Five gold stars anywhere on the grid pays 500x by itself, so reaching the ceiling means catching that on a spin that also fills several paylines with fruit.

Does Fruits & Stars 40 Christmas have free spins?

No. There is no free spins round and no bonus buy. The gold star is a paying scatter only, and the extras are the red or black Gamble and the three mystery jackpots.

What is the RTP and volatility?

RTP is 95.79% and volatility is medium. That RTP figure is quoted without the jackpot contribution, which adds a small amount on top.

How do you win the Gold, Diamond and Platinum jackpots?

They are mystery jackpots, so no symbol combination triggers them. Each awards at a random point during play, and the chance of hitting one rises with the size of your bet.

Can I play Fruits & Stars 40 Christmas for free, and what age do I need to be?

The demo runs on play money in your browser with no deposit and no account. Real-money play requires you to be 18 or older, 21 in some jurisdictions. Set a deposit limit before you switch across and treat any losses as the price of the entertainment.
