If you're getting a bit tired of modern slots that bombard you with a million flashing features and complicated bonus trails, Endorphina's Blue Slot Dice (released in July 2024) might be exactly what you're looking for. It takes a classic fruit machine layout, swaps the fruit for a sleek space-and-dice theme, and completely strips away the modern bells and whistles.
There are no free spins, no respins, and no bonus buys here. Instead, it's a straightforward game that relies entirely on base-game hits.

How It Actually Plays
Because there isn't a bonus round to chase, the entire game revolves around two cash-paying scatters and a clever "Crown" wild symbol. The scatters (a star and a mask) just pay out straight cash when they land, rather than triggering a secondary game.
The Crown wild is where the actual action happens. It lands on reels two through five, but it only expands to fill the reel if it actually completes a winning line. Because it never lands on the first reel, the wild can't start a win on its own. It just steps in to make an existing win bigger. If it can't help, it stays as a single symbol and does nothing.
I gave it a spin for a few dozen rounds to see how this felt in practice. It's definitely a game of volume rather than massive multipliers. My biggest win in that short session was exactly 4x my stake. I landed some basic purple dice on the first reel, and crowns on the second and third reels expanded to push that cheap three-of-a-kind win across all 40 paylines. It's pretty satisfying to watch a small win suddenly cover the board, even if the payouts are on the modest side.

A Familiar Face
To be fair to players, it's worth pointing out that this is Endorphina's original Blue Slot from February 2023 brought back with dice, in the studio's own words. It's a step sideways rather than an upgrade. It keeps the exact same 6x4 grid, 40 lines, and medium volatility.
The only weird discrepancy is the max win. The original game listed a 2,400x limit, while the top pay this dice version prints is 500x (the payout for six star scatters), and the game itself states no cap. Since 40 lines of six sevens would pay exactly 2,400x on this board, the two figures may just be drawn from the same paytable in different ways. Also, a quick heads-up on the RTP: the game's own rules print a very generous 98.04%, while Endorphina's page and the review sites list 96.04%, so check the rules at your specific casino before spinning.

How It Compares
Compared to Endorphina's other dice games, this one feels unusually bare. Games like Thunder Crown Dice or 3 Coin Towers Dice use the same expanding wilds but pack in free spins, bonus games, and much higher max wins.
If you like the shape of this game but want a bigger top prize, GameArt's 40 Splendid Sevens is a very similar no-bonus slot with a 3,000x max win. On the flip side, if you love the conditional expanding wild mechanic but want modern multipliers attached to it, Pragmatic Play's Ra vs Osiris does something similar but cranks up the potential.
Blue Slot Dice isn't going to blow anyone away with innovation, and the fact that it's Blue Slot brought back with a seemingly lower max win is a bit of a bummer. However, if you're a slot purist who just wants to relax, spin the reels, and not worry about waiting hundreds of spins for a bonus round to drop, it's a solid, fair, and straightforward game.
