Gold Raiders is a mining-themed Peter & Sons slot listed for release on October 29, 2026, and it tries something a little different with its math. Instead of the highly volatile doubling multipliers we see everywhere right now, this game uses a multiplier map that climbs by +1. If you've played Pragmatic Play's Jade Legends, the vibe will feel very familiar.

Gold Raiders 6x5 board during free spins, a column of green clubs on the last reel wearing hotspot multiplier badges of x3 to x6
Five clubs sitting on cells that had already won a few times, so every one of them carries its own badge into the pay.

How It Plays: Building the Map

The core gameplay revolves around a "hotspot" grid. When you land a winning combo, the spaces those symbols were sitting on light up. If you get another win on a lit space, it slaps a 2x multiplier badge on it. Every win on that spot after that adds +1 to the badge.

Those multipliers boost any later win that lands on them, but the big payoff comes when a special symbol cashes the whole map in. You're looking for one of two symbols:

  • The Base Rainbow: Turns all your lit cells into one matching symbol and applies your built-up multipliers.
  • The Coin Rainbow: Turns the lit cells straight into instant cash coins.

If you land three scatters, you get 10 free spins. In this mode, your multipliers stay on the board between spins, but they reset whenever a Rainbow feature triggers. If you're lucky enough to land four scatters, you get the Super Free Spins. Here, the multipliers never reset, letting you build a massive map over your 10 spins.

In free spins the badges don't clear when a spin ends, so the map you built two spins ago is still there waiting for the next win.

My Two Bonus Buys

I wanted to see how the math actually felt, so I bought both bonuses.

I started with the standard free spins (costing 100x my bet), and it returned 117x. It was a bit of a nail-biter. With only three spins left, I was sitting at a measly 36x. But on the eighth spin, I got a nice cascade combo followed by a Base Rainbow that turned the lit spots into hearts and diamonds, paying 79x on its own and saving the round.

Feeling good about that, I bought the Super Free Spins for 250x, which paid out a very solid 434x. Because the map doesn't reset in this tier, you can really watch the tension build. A couple of early Coin Rainbows kept me afloat with 40x and 63x wins, but the real magic happened on spin nine. A Base Rainbow turned the board into 14 premium miner symbols with multipliers ranging from 2x up to 9x, paying 231x in one shot.

My main takeaway from playing? This game is heavily backloaded. In both of my rounds, more than half the payout landed on a single late spin, once a Rainbow symbol cashed in the map I'd built.

(Note: If you don't want to buy the full bonuses, they also offer a 40x "Rainbow Spin" that guarantees a feature and a win, plus a Golden Bet option to naturally boost your chances of hitting free spins).

Gold Raiders Super Free Spins, a Base Rainbow turning the lit cells into miners that each wear a badge between x2 and x9
This is why the Super round pays late: the grid never resets, so by the last spins a Base Rainbow lands on cells stacked up to x9.

Where It Sits in the Current Slot Market

If we look at Peter & Sons' recent catalog, Gold Raiders is definitely on the tamer side. Their recent game Roadquake uses the exact same 6x5 layout but boasts a massive 20,000x max win, and Barbarossa: Beyond the Edge, out at the start of October, goes up to 30,000x using doubling multipliers.

Gold Raiders caps out at a 5,000x max win with a 96.20% RTP. That lower top prize makes total sense, though: a game where multipliers climb by +1 is naturally going to have a lower cap than a game where they double.

Mechanically, it has the most in common with Pragmatic's Jade Legends (which also uses a +1 system and coin conversions) or Moon Rush. However, I have to give Peter & Sons credit for being fair with their pricing: they charge 250x for their top Super Bonus, which is exactly half of what you'd pay for the top bonus in a doubling-multiplier game like Moon Rush.

Gold Raiders is a really balanced, fair slot. The 5,000x cap might turn off hardcore jackpot hunters, but the +1 multiplier mechanic offers a steady, suspenseful build-up that's genuinely fun to play, especially if you like games where the tension peaks on the final few spins.

The whole menu in one place: the top bonus costs 250 times the bet here, half of what Moon Rush asks for its Super Free Spins.
