Magic Treasures Gold Enchanted Shamrock Slot Review

If you're a fan of classic Irish leprechaun themes, IGT's Enchanted Shamrock might catch your eye. Just a heads up for regular players, though: this isn't exactly a brand-new game. It's actually a direct reskin of their previous slot, Magic Treasures Gold Rogue. It uses the same engine and mechanics, just wrapped up in a fresh coat of green paint.

Here's a breakdown of how it actually plays based on my experience:

One thing to note right away is that there's no "Bonus Buy" option, so you just have to spin and wait for the magic to happen. The bonuses trigger entirely at random when a special symbol lands. Sometimes one symbol is all it takes; other times you can see a bunch of them land over a session and get nothing. (Though the leprechaun character will occasionally surprise you by triggering a bonus on a completely dead spin, which is a really nice touch!)

If you get the Free Spins, you start with 8. The reels get noticeably better here, you'll see more wilds, more high-paying leprechauns, and fewer of the low-value letters/numbers. You can also retrigger +3 spins if a special symbol lands. Nothing triggered on its own in my session, so I forced a single 14-spin round with the demo's tool and walked away with a decent 40x my bet.

The one frustrating part is the game's strict cash-collect rule. To win the cash balls on the screen, you must land collect symbols on at least the first three reels, starting from the left. If reel three is blank, it doesn't matter how much cash is sitting on reels four and five, you get nothing. It can be a bit of a tease.

On the brighter side, the Money Balls Bonus is pretty fun. A pot literally drops cash values directly onto the reels. In both of mine the balls landed across the first reels, so this is the one moment the 3-reel rule works for you instead of against you. The one I forced spread across four reels and grabbed a quick 11x my bet.

There's also a classic Pick Game where you match three coins to win fixed jackpots. The Grand jackpot is 2,000x your bet, but my favorite part is that the smaller jackpots can get randomly boosted by multipliers up to 9x, which keeps the lower-tier prizes exciting.

If you're familiar with the Magic Treasures Gold family, Enchanted Shamrock is a bit of a mixed bag. Because it's a clone of Rogue, it shares the same 5x4 board and the same 2,000x Grand prize. Rogue publishes a fairly low RTP (Return to Player) of 92.02%, while this leprechaun version publishes no RTP or max win at all, so there's no telling whether it sits in that same ballpark.

If you want more bang for your buck, Magic Treasures Hold & Win Panther is the better game in the series. It bumps the max win to 2,500x, has a better RTP (around 95%), and lets you actually choose between free spins or a hold-and-win bonus.

Enchanted Shamrock is basically the base-model game wearing a fun green hat. It's not breaking any new ground, and that left-to-right collect rule can be a little annoying when the third reel misses. But if you love a good Irish theme, enjoy random surprise bonuses, and don't mind a simpler, old-school style of play, it's still worth a few spins!
