It looks like ELK Studios isn't letting its four collector parrots retire anytime soon. Pirots 3 is finally here, and honestly, it drops at a really weird time for the studio. Concrete Cowboys and Pirots 5 have both moved up to a 96% return, and Nitropolis 5 pushes its top prize all the way to 50,000x, but Pirots 3 stubbornly sticks to the exact same math as Pirots 2. Basically, this game exists to test exactly how much money we are willing to spend to skip the base game and buy features.
The theme, though, is fantastic. It's framed as a Wild West theme park rather than the actual Wild West. There's a roller coaster looping in the background, a popcorn cart, and a saloon that literally advertises itself as "open for robbery." The game doesn't take itself seriously at all, and leaning into the absurdity of these birds playing cowboy makes it the funniest game in the series so far.
Stat-wise, you're looking at a 6x7 grid (expanding to 7x8), a 94% RTP, and a 10,000x max win. The hit rate is about 25%, but as you'll see, that doesn't mean much.

How the Birds Actually Play
If you haven't played a Pirots game, here's the deal: the four birds drop down and walk around collecting gems of their own color. If a gem isn't physically next to the right bird, it just sits there. This means you can have a board packed with high-value gems, wilds, and coin bags, but if the birds can't reach them, you get nothing. At one point, seven drops in a row paid me nothing, which feels incredibly punishing for a collection-style game.
You want to upgrade your gems using horseshoe symbols (a gold horseshoe upgrades all four colors at once). At max level, a red gem pays 30x. The problem? The base game resets everything, the grid size, the collection meter, and the gem levels, on every single spin. Because of this, most base spins are just you watching birds sweep up pennies. A "good" base game hit might get you 8x or 10x your bet. It's a slog.

The Bonus Menu (Prepare Your Wallet)
To get the bonus naturally, a bird has to physically walk over three golden skulls. Sometimes birds will shoot across the grid or ride a train in the background to grab features, which is really cool to watch and creates fun chain reactions.

But let's be real, ELK wants you to use the Feature Menu. Here is what you're paying for:

- 3x Buy: Quadruples your chance of triggering the bonus.
- 25x Bandit Jailbreak: A vulture fights the birds and sweeps the board. Sounds cool, but my vulture got caught early and the whole thing handed back 1.7x.
- 50x Coin Game: Birds lasso coin bags until a scorpion shows up and ends the round. The game loves to tease you by dropping 1,000x bags in plain sight that you can't reach. Mine sat there with a 1,000x and a 500x on the board, and the lassos brought back 20x.
- 100x Standard Bonus: Gives you 5 free drops where the grid and gem levels don't reset. Even with that advantage, mine scraped back 52x of the 100 it cost.
- 500x Super Bonus: You get the max 7x8 grid from the start, and every horseshoe is gold. But listen to this: even when the game does exactly what it's supposed to do and fills the screen with max-level gems, you might only win 117x. It is heartbreaking to spend 500x and get a quarter of it back on a "good" board.
The Final Verdict
When you put Pirots 3 next to Le King, which pays on over 40% of its spins and caps at 20,000x, the math here just feels mean.
It's a beautifully built, highly volatile machine that executes its theme park joke perfectly. But actually playing it is an exercise in frustration. You spend a fortune building up this fully upgraded board, only to realize the gems don't pay out enough to cover your costs. You eventually realize the 10,000x max win has nothing to do with grinding gems, you're just blindly hoping to stumble onto a huge coin bag. And everything on the buy menu is just a different, expensive way to hope for that exact same coin.
