Spinberry is dropping a new slasher-horror slot called Silent Fright in October 2026. If you've played slots for a while, the core gameplay is going to feel very familiar: its bonus is a classic sticky-wild free spins round.

Silent Fright free spins on a 5x3 grid of horror symbols, with two locked Wilds on the fourth reel and a third Wild landing between them
Spin seven of the bonus, and the fourth reel is filling up with wilds. Nice to see, but they only pay when reels one to three line up with them.

How the Free Spins Work

The goal here is to get into the bonus round, which gives you a flat 10 free spins. You can get there the old-fashioned way by landing three scatters, or you can buy right in for 90x your stake. There's also a "Feature Spin" mode you can toggle on for 4x your base bet, which basically spins a mini-grid until you hit the trigger.

Once you're in the bonus, it's a very purist, no-frills experience. Scatters are removed from the reels, meaning you can't retrigger the bonus, 10 spins is all you get. Any wild that lands locks in place for the rest of the round. There are no multipliers attached to them; they're just standard wilds. Because of this, your success really comes down to where those wilds happen to land.

I bought the 90x bonus to see how it played. My wilds dropped in one by one, and by spin four, I had a wild locked on the fourth reel that connected some lines for a decent 40x win. But as the round went on, my wilds kept stacking on reels three and four. Since the game pays left-to-right, having a bunch of wilds on the back half of the board doesn't do you much good if you don't have matching symbols on reels one and two to connect them. I walked away with about 53x my stake. It was a bit of a loss, but that's just the nature of these sticky-wild games: you really need to catch those wilds early, and you need them on the left side of the board to see a big return.

A locked Wild on the fourth reel of Silent Fright completing a line of three clowns during free spins
This is the bonus doing its job: three clowns from the left, and the wild that stuck on reel four stretches the line one symbol further.

How It Compares to the Competition

If you're looking to compare it to other games, Silent Fright is a throwback to simpler mechanics. The game it most resembles is probably Peter & Sons' Inks & Pints, whose free spins lock wilds the same way on the same 5x3 board, though that one offers a slightly cheaper 75x buy-in, an ante-bet option, and a higher RTP (96.70%).

These days, a lot of studios tend to juice up this format. Pragmatic Play's Catrix and BGaming's Wincent Wolf, for example, both add multipliers to their sticky wilds, while Yggdrasil's Vikings Go To Hollywood features a climbing multiplier. Silent Fright skips all of that to keep things completely bare-bones.

There is definitely a charm to that classic simplicity, especially if you love the horror theme and just want a straightforward slot that doesn't overcomplicate things. However, you do have to be mindful of the math. Silent Fright sits at a published RTP of 93.25% (93.30% for the bonus buy). Compared to its rivals, which usually hover around the 96% mark, that's noticeably lower.

Silent Fright is a fun, atmospheric game that knows exactly what it wants to be. Just keep in mind that you're paying a slightly premium price for a feature that strips out the multipliers found in competing games, and you'll need a bit of luck on those early left-side reels to make the bonus round pay off.

Silent Fright Buy Feature window offering free spins for 90 times the bet
The buy costs 90x your bet, more than Inks & Pints, Wincent Wolf or Vikings Go To Hollywood ask, for a round with no multipliers.
