Playtech's Origins studio recently dropped Taco Libre Jackpot: Cash Collect Max (July 2026), mashing up Mexican wrestling with street food. It's a really fun, vibrant theme, but if you're a regular player of Playtech slots, the mechanics are going to feel pretty familiar. It plays almost exactly like Oktober Cash, the Cash Collect game Playtech put out in September. Let's break down how it plays and if the differences make it worth a spin.

Taco Libre Jackpot: Cash Collect Max free games board with three locked Cash Collect wrestlers on reels 2 and 3, stacked hot sauce wilds and a taco on reel 1
Three collectors locked in the free games, so the one taco on reel 1 gets paid three separate times.

How the Bonus Works

To get into the free spins, you're looking for a Cash Collect symbol on reel 1 or 5 to land at the same time as a free-games coin. The numbers on the coins you land will add up to give you your total starting spins. If you don't feel like waiting, you can buy the bonus for 100x your bet (which guarantees at least six spins). There's also a 1.2x Extra Bet option that helps the collector land more often in the base game, though turning this on disables the bonus buy.

What sets it apart is a fun pre-bonus pick game. You're presented with a grid of ten tacos that hide power-ups. You can uncover extra spins, an instant sticky collector on the board, or cash upgraders (from 0.5x to 2x). You keep picking and building up your upgrades until you hit a "Start" symbol.

Once you're actually in the free spins, it's all about the sticky Cash Collect symbols. They can land anywhere and stay locked in place until the feature ends. You can get up to five locked at once, and here's the best part: each collector grabs every cash coin and jackpot on the board independently. So, a coin's value gets boosted by whatever upgrades you found in the taco pick game, and is then multiplied by the number of collectors you have locked in. Plus, if a collector lands with a free-games coin, it retriggers spins with no limit.

The upgraders you find in the taco picks pile up in that splat on the right, and every coin in the round carries the total on top of its face value.

My Experience Playing It

I bought the feature for 100x my bet. I got a great triggering spin that gave me 15 free spins. In the taco pick game, I managed to build up a 3x upgrader before the round started.

Two locked Cash Collect symbols on reels 2 and 3 in the free games collecting a 4.00 coin, with the 3.00 upgrader total shown on the right
A 1x taco turned into a 4x coin thanks to the 3x upgrader, and with two collectors locked it paid twice.

Things kicked off really well, I landed two sticky collectors right on the first spin. Because of my setup, every coin that landed was boosted by the 3x upgrader and then paid out twice (once for each collector). For example, I had a 1x and a 10x coin land together. The upgrader pushed their combined value to 17x, and the two collectors doubled that for a really nice 34x payout. I even landed a third collector late in the round, which allowed a single 4x coin to pay out three times over for a 12x return.

And this is the flip side: the collectors are sitting there, but with no coin on the board the spin adds nothing.

However, to be perfectly fair, the game can be a bit tight. The math model relies entirely on landing coins while you have collectors locked. If no coins land, you get nothing but standard line wins. Over half of my 15 spins were dead, and I ended up walking away with about 80% of my buy-in. I also didn't see any of the fixed jackpots (which top out at 500x), but it is exciting to know that if one did drop, multiple collectors would award that jackpot multiple times.

How It Compares

The Cash Collect line is huge, and Oktober Cash, which followed it in September, is the closest thing to this game in it: the same locking collectors, four fixed jackpot tiers and the same 100x bonus buy.

Still, Taco Libre holds up well next to it. The pre-bonus pick screen makes the feature feel more interactive, and its base-game collector can land on reel 1 as well as reel 5, where Oktober Cash's only lands on reel 5. The numbers favour it too: 95.77% and a 3,483.8x max win against Oktober Cash's 95.46% and 2,912x.

It shares some mechanics with Sahara Riches: Cash Collect Max and the Mexican vibe of Gold Trio: Tres Amigos, but plays quite differently from games like Breaking Bad: Mega Collect'em.

In the end, it's a really solid mechanic, where a single coin can pay out three or four times over, and here it plays in a Mexican wrestling ring rather than Oktober Cash's Bavarian beer tent. It might not be a totally original game, but the theme is fun, the differences are noticeable, and the snowball potential in the bonus round is as exciting as ever.

Base game with Extra Bet on, a Cash Collect symbol on reel 1 collecting an orange taco coin worth 5.00, Buy Feature greyed out
Here the base-game collector hits on reel 1, which is one of the things Oktober Cash doesn't let it do. You can also see the buy button greyed out while Extra Bet is running.
