Tower of Atlantis, Crazy Tooth Studio's September 2026 release, does things a bit differently. The biggest talking point here is the bonus round: when it hits, the base game completely vanishes, and you're taken to a totally new screen focused entirely on surviving a prize tower climb.

How the Tower Climb Actually Works
To get to the bonus, you need to land three or more "pods" under the reels. Each pod gives you one active column on a new 5x3 grid. This grid only drops blanks, instant cash prizes, or special modifiers.

Next to the grid is the prize tower. It starts with 2x, 3x, and 5x multipliers, then moves up to a variable multiplier, a minor prize, and finally a 5,000x grand prize. The problem is that cash prizes pay out on every spin, multiplied by whatever tier of the tower is currently lit. You move up the tower by landing "Advance" symbols.

You can also land symbols that increase the top prizes, but those don't mean much unless you actually climb high enough to reach them. The real tension comes from the "Skull" symbols, which permanently kill whatever reel they land on (though "Restore" symbols can save you). The bonus ends when all your reels go dark.
My Experience with the Bonus Buy
You can buy into the bonus for 60x your stake (which triggers it normally) or 100x for the "Super Bonus," which guarantees all five reels are active from the start.

I went for the 100x Super Bonus. It actually gave me a really fun run, nearly 20 spins, with plenty of action. Early on, I was just collecting flat cash prizes while slowly climbing the tower. Once I hit the 2x and 3x tiers, those small prizes started adding up and became the bulk of my payout.

I managed to build the variable multiplier up to a juicy 25x, but unfortunately, the Skulls took over and killed my board just before I could reach it. I walked away with about 63x my bet. It was a loss on a 100x buy, but I couldn't be too mad at it: the entertainment value was high, and I could clearly see the potential if I had just dodged one more Skull.
How It Compares to Other Slots
If you're familiar with Crazy Tooth's catalog, the closest point of reference is Lucky Clucks 4: A Murder Most Fowl, due out in October. They share a similar layout and bonus buy pricing. Lucky Clucks has a slightly better RTP (96.70% vs. 96.21% here), but Tower of Atlantis offers more than double the max win.
Theme-wise, it's bound to be compared to Pragmatic Play's Kingdom of Atlantis, which also has a 5,000x top prize. However, Pragmatic's game drops its jackpots randomly in the base game, whereas here, you really have to earn it by surviving the tower climb. It also reminded me a bit of Light & Wonder's Zeus Olympus and Beyond with its multiplier trail, but in Tower, the trail dictates the rate of your ongoing wins, rather than just being a flat prize at the end.
A quick heads-up for the bonus buyers: the math actually favors the more expensive option. The standard 60x buy has an RTP of 96.09% (which is slightly lower than the base game), while the 100x Super Bonus bumps up to 96.24%. Statistically, the 100x option with all five reels active gives you the most efficient shot at climbing the tower.
Tower of Atlantis is a solid, medium-high volatility slot. It can definitely be frustrating when the Skulls shut you down early, but the climb mechanic makes the bonus round genuinely engaging to watch. It's a fair trade-off: you're sacrificing base-game action for a really tense, high-stakes bonus feature.
