With winter right around the corner, I recently got my hands on a preview of Spinberry's upcoming Wild Reindeers slot, slated for release in late November 2026. It's a cozy winter wildlife game that leans heavily on a random-wild mechanic.

Buying the Bonus: How It Actually Plays
Normally, landing three, four, or five scatters in the base game gets you 10, 20, or a massive 75 free spins. However, Buy Feature works a bit differently. You can pay 50x, 75x, or 100x your stake for 10, 15, or 20 spins.

There is one slightly annoying quirk here: when I bought Buy Feature 20 Free Spins at 100x, the game teased me by displaying the five-scatter trigger on the board, but I still only got the 20 spins I paid for, not the 75 that board gives naturally. There's also a "Feature Spin" mode that acts as a cheaper gamble for the bonus, costing 2x, 4x, or 6x your base bet. It is a chance rather than a sure thing: the round only opens when all three symbols light up.
Once you're actually in the free spins, the game strips away some of the base game features (like the crystal collection) and removes the scatters entirely, meaning you can't retrigger the round. There are no multipliers, either. Instead, the whole bonus rests on the Gold Reindeer symbol. When it lands, it can set off the Wild Reindeers feature, which scatters random wilds across the board.

In my Buy Feature 20 Free Spins round, the feature actually performed pretty well. The Gold Reindeer showed up on 11 of my 20 spins, dropping three to five wilds each time. One lucky spin threw four wilds onto the leftmost reels and paid out 54x on its own, allowing me to walk away with a respectable 78x total return. Because the paytable is relatively flat (maxing out at just 4x per way), you're really relying on filling the screen with wilds rather than chasing big multipliers. It's a simple feature, but it can be fun when the reindeer cooperate.
How It Stacks Up Against the Competition
If you're familiar with Spinberry's catalog, you might be wondering how this compares. It feels a bit stripped back compared to some of their other titles.
For example, their Tuna Overload Christmas Haul, due in December, sells its free spins at the same 50x, 75x and 100x, but it gives you more spins for your money (up to 24 spins for 100x), can retrigger up to 96 spins in total, and pulls the tunas on a winning line up to the best one for that spin. It also has a slightly better RTP (93.24% vs. Wild Reindeers' 93.19%, both of which are admittedly on the lower side for modern slots).
Spinberry's Calaveras Fortuna is another good comparison. While that game charges 100x for just 10 spins, its wild mechanic feels much more explosive, turning entire symbol types wild on every free spin. Wild Reindeers, by contrast, only gives you a handful of individual wilds, and only when that specific trigger symbol lands.
Looking outside the studio, Evoplay's Mega Duck Hunt, due on 27 October, sells similar tiered bonus buys, but at a premium (up to 140x) for 20 spins. So, Wild Reindeers keeping its top buy capped at 100x is definitely a plus for your bankroll, even if the trade-off is losing the ability to retrigger.
Wild Reindeers is a straightforward, fair slot. It lacks the compounding multipliers or retriggers that hardcore high-volatility players look for, but if you enjoy a simple random-wild mechanic and reasonably priced bonus buys, it might be worth a few spins when it drops in 2026.
