About Le Comte de Monte Cristo Slot

Edmond Dantes is the wild, Dumas' wronged sailor done up in a grey top hat, and he carries the top of the paytable. He substitutes for every symbol except the scatter and the bonus, and five of him across one of the 20 fixed lines pays 10,000x that line's bet - the biggest single hit on the reels. The board itself is dark. Black reels sit against a night seascape, an ornate gold script title arched overhead, and the payline numbers are picked out on grey stone blocks down both sides. Alongside Dantes you get the island prison of Chateau d'If, a blue-lit young man leveling a flintlock, a pair of crossed duelling pistols on a red disc, and ornate-script A-K-Q-J-10 royals, all pulled from a period revenge tale.

Mercedes, the dark-haired woman, is the scatter, and three or more of her award 12 free games with every win tripled while they run. The white sailing ship is a separate bonus symbol. Three or more open a pick-and-reveal round that reaches up to 14,175x the line bet, the game's ceiling. Land any win and you can gamble it on a double-or-nothing card guess, the old red-or-black kind, risking the whole amount for the chance to double it.

What you won't find is anything modern bolted on. No jackpot, no bonus buy, no ante bet, so the two feature symbols are your only ways in and the base game is a straight 20-line, left-to-right affair. It also isn't one of Playtech's mainline in-house builds; it runs on a third-party MediaGamble engine, which shows in how plain the whole thing feels next to the studio's headline slots. And it pays back less over time than most slots you'll spin, noticeably less than Playtech usually does, so the 10,000x wild line is the draw here more than the grind.
