About Monkey Business Slot

Fire the Monkey. That's the actual name of the bonus game, and it tells you most of what you need to know about Monkey Business: this is a Wall Street satire where the Gorilla Stock Broker (the Wild) hires and fires his primate underlings against a hazy yellow Manhattan skyline, with green vines crawling up over the skyscrapers like the jungle is slowly reclaiming the financial district. The reels are flanked by those vines. The cabinet sits on top of them. Inside, the symbols are suited orangutans, chimps in business attire holding briefcases and laptops, a chimp scientist hunched over a clipboard, bunches of bananas on red and blue panels, and the title scatter itself, a literal paper envelope marked "PAY PACKET" with peanuts spilling out the top.

The Peanut Paypacket is what triggers the bonus. Land three or more anywhere on the reels and the round opens with a payout pegged directly to your triggering bet rather than a fixed coin schedule, so the size of your spin determines the size of the prize pool. It's a themed Wall-Street-layoff joke wrapped around a pick-style bonus, and unlike most Genii titles of this vintage, the bonus name is doing real narrative work.

The Free Spins trigger is the City Chimp scatter, and the scaling is where things get interesting. Three scatters award 10 spins, four scatters award 15, and five scatters double the count outright to 30. Most slots ramp linearly from tier to tier. Doubling the spin count between the second and third trigger tier is rare, and it makes the rare 5-scatter hit feel disproportionately valuable. The bonus retriggers from inside, with no spin multiplier attached, so the entire run leans on raw spin volume plus the Gorilla Wild filling in for everything except the two named scatters.

The Gorilla Wild has no self-pay, which is unusual. It substitutes only, and the upside is hidden in the paytable: the top five line symbols pay from just two of a kind, with the top Wall Street character returning 5 coins from a 2x, 50 from 3x, 500 from 4x and 5,000 from the full 5x line. So a single Wild plus one premium on an active payline already produces a hit. That's where the base-game frequency comes from on a 91.4% RTP build that otherwise leans high-volatility, and it's worth knowing the default bet of $2 is already running max coins per line at the smallest chip size, so adjustments scale upward fast on the 4-tier chip and 10-tier coin selector.

No buy bonus, no ante, no jackpot, no free-spin multiplier. Just the Fire the Monkey envelope, the 10-15-30 City Chimp ladder, and a Gorilla in a tie waiting to cover for whichever primate didn't show up that morning.
