A grinning crypto-bro in a hot-pink suit runs this one, and he sets the tone for everything else in it. Mr First Cryptonium takes the whole cryptocurrency boom and turns it into a cartoon: Bitcoin and Ethereum coins tumbling past a neon skyline, a laptop glowing green on the reels, and a mascot who looks like he has never once sold at a loss.

Underneath the joke sits an old-fashioned line machine. Five reels, four rows, 40 fixed paylines running left to right, a wild coin and a scatter that pays out free spins. Nothing modern in the mechanics at all.

What it does have is three mystery progressive jackpots ticking over on a meter below the reels, and a red-or-black double-up on every win. The RTP is 96.29%, a fair number for a game carrying progressives, and the top regular win lands around 1,043x stake.

The reels sit inside a hot-pink frame against a blue city at night, glass towers stacked behind neon signage, a wash of pink light bleeding across the panel behind the symbols. Two neon 40 markers hang off either side of the grid, so the line count is impossible to miss.

Symbol art is bright and clean rather than detailed. Gold Bitcoin coins, blue Ethereum coins with the white diamond logo, a laptop with a green circuit pattern on its screen, a tablet drawing a cyan arrow upward, a pink coin stamped with a white lightning bolt. Mr First gets the best treatment by far. He is a portrait in a green tufted-velvet frame ringed with bulbs, like a dressing-room mirror, and he lands in full-column stacks that fill a reel with four copies of the same smug pose. The wild is a big orange coin with circuit traces radiating out of it and WILD in neon across the middle, and the scatter is a pink tile marked with a white S and the word Fast. It all looks cheerful and slightly dated, closer to a social-casino app from a decade ago than anything current, though the colours are loud enough to carry it.

Sessions move quickly because there is nothing built in to slow them down. No tumbles, no re-spins, no meter filling up with a little fanfare. A spin resolves, the lines pay or they don't, the reels are ready again. From 0.40 a spin, the whole thing settles into a flat, undemanding rhythm that Fazi's older titles share.

The jackpot meter is what changes where your attention goes. It rotates between Gold, Diamond and Platinum and the numbers creep upward while you sit there, so a chunk of the tension has nothing to do with what the reels are doing. That can feel like playing two games at once, one of which you have no influence over.

The stacked Mr First columns are the base game's best moments, and they arrive often enough to keep things ticking. But the flat structure cuts both ways: because the bonus round plays identically to everything around it, a session never builds toward anything. For some players that is restful. For others it is the reason the game gets closed after twenty minutes.

This is a 2023 release built on a much older template, and Fazi has not pretended otherwise. The crypto styling is the new part. The 40-line engine underneath it has been running in their catalogue for years, and the free spins, the gamble and the jackpot meter are all pieces you will recognise from their other machines.

Where it falls short is ambition. The bonus adds nothing the base game doesn't already do, and because the jackpots trigger at random rather than being earned, there is no point in a session you can actually play toward. The double-up is the only decision on the table.

Still, the entry price is low, the maths are transparent, and Mr First is better company than most mascots. Probably one to leave running in the background rather than build an evening around.
