Mystic Orbs puts a feature row above the 5x5 cluster grid. Up to five features sit in those slots at any time, and Orb symbols dropping on the main grid activate whichever feature is directly above their column. The system creates a positional game within the slot - where an Orb lands matters as much as whether it lands.
Charged Orbs bypass positioning entirely. They activate every feature in the row simultaneously. Getting a Charged Orb when the row holds a Multiplier, an Upgrade, and an Orb Siege triggers all three at once. That's the scenario the game builds toward.
Upgrade picks a symbol type and converts all instances to the next tier up (or to wilds) for up to three avalanche cycles. Orb Siege replaces up to four symbols surrounding the Orb with one adjacent symbol type, and a Charged Orb extends the siege pattern outward. Multiplier adds to a running total that applies to all current and future wins. Orb Payout (bonus only) pays a direct coin value multiplied by your bet. Extra Life (base only) grants an additional symbol drop when no wins remain. Bonus (base only) awards direct entry to the bonus game.
The features execute in a fixed order: Multiplier first, then Orb Payout, Upgrade, Orb Siege, Extra Life, Bonus. That sequencing matters - the multiplier is always applied before payouts resolve.
Collecting 5 Orbs in the base game triggers the bonus. During the bonus, every 5 additional Orbs award more free drops. The persistent multiplier in bonus mode is the key differentiator. It starts wherever Base game left it and only goes up. By the middle of a decent bonus round, every cluster win is hitting at x3 or x4 the base value.
The X-iter options reflect the feature row design: 5x for a guaranteed Orb with at least one active feature, 25x for a persistent multiplier across 3 drops, 50x for all Orbs Charged, 100x for bonus entry, 500x for Super Bonus where every Orb is permanently Charged. The 50x tier is the sweet spot for demonstrating what the game does at peak efficiency.
At 28% hit frequency the base game generates steady avalanche chains on the 5x5 grid. Cluster wins need 5+ connected symbols, and the paytable scales steeply with cluster size - a 25-symbol cluster of the top symbol pays 200,000 coins on a 100-coin bet. That kind of peak requires Upgrade features stacking the same symbol type across multiple avalanche cycles. Rare, but the feature row design makes it mechanically possible in ways that random wild placement can't replicate.
