About Mythical Guardians Slot
The distinction between base game and free spins comes down to one word: direction. Framed symbols land on reels 2, 3, and 4 during any spin. When a framed symbol is part of a winning combination, it transforms into a Wild after the collapsing reels clear, then activates every position in either the same reel or the same row - one direction, chosen for you. Those activated positions fill with random symbols and cascade again. If any of the new symbols happen to be framed too, they chain-react the same way, converting into more Wilds and activating more positions. A single winning framed tile on reel 3 can ripple outward across the entire grid in a good sequence.
Free spins flip that to a cross pattern. Each framed-to-Wild conversion activates positions in both the reel and the row simultaneously, covering more of the grid per transformation. Three scatters start 10 spins, retriggerable, with extra scatters adding 2 more each. The upgrade sounds incremental but the math compounds fast - one framed Wild in the center of a 5x4 grid touching both its full column and full row means 7 activated positions instead of 3 or 4. Chain reactions during free spins can redraw most of the board in a single cascade sequence, which is where the 15,000x ceiling lives. For 85x (or whatever the current Feature Buy price sits at), you skip straight into those cross-pattern spins.
The four mythological guardians - Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, Black Tortoise - fill the premium symbol slots, rendered in rich purples, teal blues, and warm golds against a jade temple backdrop. Chinese elemental kanji (fire, earth, wood, water, metal) serve as the low-pay tiles. Wilds only appear on the three center reels, same as the framed symbols, so reels 1 and 5 are pure symbol columns with no conversion potential. That concentration keeps the mechanic focused rather than scattered. PG Soft's gold-framed-symbol engine has shown up across several titles now - Legend of Hou Yi used a version of it years ago - but the directional split between base and bonus is specific to this one.
