About Paydirt! Go for the Gold Slot
No card royals anywhere on the reels. Every symbol is a piece of mining equipment or frontier treasure - crossed pickaxes, a brass lantern with a flickering flame, a telescoping spyglass, TNT barrels with red dynamite sticks poking out, a prospector's pan heaped with gold nuggets, and a wooden chest spilling over with ore. The grid sits inside a rustic timber frame against a sunset desert canyon, all warm oranges and dusty pinks, with red rock mesas fading into the distance. It's a gold rush setting committed fully to its own theme.
The Gold Miner - a mustachioed cartoon prospector with a wide-brimmed hat and a pickaxe over his shoulder - pulls double duty as both Wild and Scatter in a single symbol. He substitutes on any payline like a standard Wild, but landing three or more also triggers the Free Games bonus. One symbol doing both jobs is an unusual choice for any provider, and it means every Gold Miner that shows up contributes to two things at once: building regular line wins and pushing toward the bonus trigger.
Free Games award 8 spins. Before they start, the game randomly selects one of the regular symbols as the Special Morphing Symbol for the entire round. When that chosen symbol lands during a free spin, it expands to fill additional positions on its reel, forcing extra matches across the 10 paylines. Which symbol gets picked matters - the mine cart or gold pan morphing across a reel is worth more than a lantern doing the same thing. There's no retrigger and no escalating multiplier, so the round's value depends almost entirely on which symbol the game picks and how often it appears.
This is a 2024 remake of the original PayDirt from RTG's older catalog, rebuilt with modern cartoon-style art but keeping the same Wild West prospector theme and the same combined Wild/Scatter mechanic. The original had configurable return settings across a wide range, and this version locks things down to a single fixed percentage. Ten paylines on a 5x3 grid with no buy bonus, no jackpot tier, and no ante bet - the morphing free spins round is the only feature, and the 50,000x ceiling lives entirely inside it.
