Mines strips away reels, paylines, and bonus triggers. What's left is a grid of hidden tiles - some hold diamonds, some hold mines. Pick a diamond and your multiplier climbs. Hit a mine and everything's gone. Collect any time you want.
That's it. No scatter symbols, no free spins, no waiting for features to activate. The whole game is one continuous risk-reward decision.
Four grid sizes: 3x3, 5x5, 7x7, and 9x9. Each grid has preset mine counts - the 5x5 defaults to 1, 3, 5, or 7 mines, while the 9x9 goes from 5 to 20. Custom counts are also available.
More mines means higher multipliers per pick but fewer safe tiles. On a 5x5 grid with 3 mines, the first pick pays 1.11x. Clear 22 tiles and you're at 2,254x. On a 3x3 with 4 mines, hitting all 5 safe tiles pays 123.48x from a much smaller board.
The 9x9 grid with 20 mines is where the 10,000x ceiling lives. Eighty tiles to navigate, twenty of them lethal. But even on the small 3x3 with just 1 mine, clearing 8 tiles still pays 8.82x - low risk, steady returns.
RTP sits at 98% in the default configuration. That's significantly above the 94-96% range you'd find in most slots. Operators can set lower RTP tiers, so the actual percentage depends on where you play. Bets start at 0.20 and go up to 1,000 - one of the widest ranges in Hacksaw's catalog.
Multipliers are deterministic. Given a specific grid size and mine count, each pick tier has an exact payout calculated from probability. No RNG surprise on the multiplier values - the only random element is where the mines are placed.
A 10,000x hard cap exists. If your next pick would push the potential win past that ceiling, the round auto-ends and pays your current total. In practice, this only matters on high-mine configurations where the theoretical multiplier per surviving pick exceeds five figures.
