About Pride and Prey Slot

The slash mechanic is what separates this from every other lion-pride machine. During the base game the Wild turns up on the reels like normal, standing in for everything except the lion, who scatters across reels one, three and five. Three lions hand you eight free spins, and the moment the round begins the rules flip. Wilds stop appearing on their own. Instead, at the end of every free spin the game randomly claws a few symbols, slashing them into Wilds for the next evaluation. Even scatters can get slashed, which matters because three lions surviving on the board retrigger another four spins on top of whatever you have left. So the same feature that builds your Wilds can also feed the retrigger that extends the round.

Down the left edge sits the part that keeps pulling you back: a ladder of ten lion badges that fill up through play and stay saved between real-money sessions. Each one pays a cash reward scaled to your average bet when you tick it off. Lazy Lion comes from five losses in a row, Lion on a Roll from five wins, Unstoppable Lion from ten straight wins. Bonus Lion fires the first time you trigger the free spins, Angry Lion needs ten slashes inside a single round, and the grind tiers, Centurion at a hundred spins and Dizzy Lion at a thousand, reward sheer time at the machine rather than any single hit. It is a slow-burn layer stacked on top of plain 20-line play, and bigger stakes scale the eventual payouts.

There is also a Wager Saver. If your balance dips below your last total bet, you can spin a small wheel for one, three or five times that bet to claw back some funds before you are forced to stop.

The board sits in a tangled mess of vines and branches against the African savanna, blue daytime sky, acacia trees, a distant watering hole and a pale full moon hanging over the mountains. The animals are painted with real care, a heavy-maned male lion, watchful lionesses, cubs, zebras and giraffes, alongside glossy gem-cut card suits in red, green, blue and gold. A carved wooden logo sits over the reels. Light & Wonder picked this one up from its Red7 days, and the absence of any buy option means the only way into the bonus is landing those three lions the hard way.
