About Santa's Village Slot
The bonus map is the structural odd-one-out here. Instead of folding the feature round into the reels, three or more scatters drop the play surface out of the grid and into a separate screen showing a snowed-in North Pole village from above, with a winding lit path between cottages. You step through the map node by node, each cottage paying out as you land on it, and the round closes when the path ends rather than when a spin counter ticks to zero. That structure makes the Map Feature feel closer to a board-game bonus than a free-spins round, even though Habanero does run a separate Sleigh Free Games mode alongside it on scatter triggers.
On the reels themselves, the unusual choice is that only three paylines are active. The trade-off is that all three pay in both directions, so a Santa-Santa-Santa run starting from reel 5 pays the same as one starting from reel 1, doubling the effective win surface to six directional reads. The base game runs three distinct Wild behaviours on top of that thin line count. A standard Wild substitutes, an Expanding Wild stretches to fill its full reel, and a Spreading Wild seeds extra Wild positions on adjacent cells. When a Wild lands inside a paying combo, the surrounding reels lock the win in place and respin to fish for more matches, which is the main mechanic carrying the medium hit rate.
Visually it's pure 2017 Habanero Christmas pulp. Snow-laden gabled cottages line both sides of the grid, a faint moonlit silhouette of Santa's sleigh and reindeer crosses the upper sky, and a Christmas tree decked with red baubles glows on the right edge of the cabinet. The premium symbols are Santa himself in a cosy red suit, Rudolph with a glowing nose, a wreath, a snow globe, and ribboned gift boxes, with A and Q card royals filling out the low end on coloured circular medallions. Two random progressive jackpots, a Grand and a Minor, tick away at the top of the cabinet and can hit on any paid spin without a symbol trigger, which is a holdover from Habanero's late-2010s catalog era when most of their cabinets shipped with the jackpot network wired in by default.
