Sumo Sumo runs on a 5x5 grid with 259 connecting paylines. Two teams of Sumo wrestlers - red and blue - populate the reels alongside six standard fruit symbols. When Sumo symbols land in a winning combination, they stack onto each other, creating Walking Multiplier Wilds. The taller the stack, the higher the multiplier.
These stacks walk. Right one reel per respin, then left when they reach the edge. Every win during the walk triggers another respin. Adjacent same-colored Sumos merge into existing stacks, growing them taller. The stack keeps moving until it either reaches reel 1 and spins off, or a respin produces no new wins and no new merges.
When two stacks of different colors occupy the same row, they brawl. The larger stack wins and absorbs the loser's multiplier value. Equal stacks pick a random winner. It's a risk-reward moment that plays out automatically - your biggest red stack might collide with a bigger blue one and lose everything, or it might absorb it and double in power.
Multiple Walking Wild Sumo Stacks on the same payline multiply their values together, not added. A x3 and x4 on the same line produces x12, not x7. During free spins, where stacks stick between rounds and keep growing, two or three persistent stacks compounding across six spins generate the kind of multiplication that pushes toward 25,000x.
The base paytable is modest. Six payout symbols with the top one paying 1,000 coins for five-of-a-kind (10x on standard bet). The game's payout potential lives almost entirely in the walking wild multiplier system.
Two Free Spins symbols (not three - unusual trigger count) award 6 free spins. Wild Sumo Stacks become sticky between spins. They don't walk off the grid or disappear on reel 1. They stay, keep growing with each new merge, and their multipliers keep compounding. Retriggering adds 6 more spins.
The sticky behavior changes the math fundamentally. A x5 stack that survives all six spins participates in every single payout. If a second stack builds to x4, every winline crossing both pays at x20 base.
Three Bonus symbols trigger the Speedboat Bonus - a separate game on a 5x5 mini-reel grid. The speedboat starts with an initial value and 3 lives. Unoccupied positions spin to reveal symbols, costing one life each. When the speedboat collects Swimmers or Wakeboarders in its line of sight (north, south, east, west), lives reset to 3.
Swimmers add flat values to the boat. Wakeboarders attach to it and grow value with each position moved. Ramps multiply everything. Harpoonists increase all uncollected symbol values globally - turning late-game collections into disproportionately large payouts. The Turbo Harpoonist variant also increases values on each collection, not just per spin.
It's genuinely two different games sharing one slot. The base game and free spins are about Sumo stacking physics. The Speedboat Bonus is about spatial collection strategy on a separate grid.
Bonus Hunt at 2x increases trigger chances for both bonus types. Brawl Mode at 25x guarantees an immediate Sumo Brawl. Speedboat Bonus at 100x and Super Speedboat at 250x (all Harpoonists become Turbo) target the collection game. Free Spins at 500x delivers the sticky-stack experience directly. RTP stays at 94.0% across all modes.
