About Sweet Bonanza Slot
Scatter Pays existed before this game, but this is the one that made the mechanic mainstream. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid pay out - no paylines, no adjacency rules. Fruits and candies mix across the reels: bananas, grapes, plums, watermelons, apples on the low end, with blue, green, and purple candy shapes in the middle. Red hearts sit at the top, paying 50x for 12 or more. Every win triggers a tumble - winning symbols disappear, everything above drops down, fresh symbols fill the gaps. Tumbles chain until the grid stops producing wins, so a single paid spin can cascade through five or six consecutive payouts. And because non-winning symbols stay put between tumbles, you get situations where seven hearts are already sitting on the board and one more just needs to fall in.
Free spins start at 10 rounds from four lollipop scatters. The mechanic changes once you're inside: rainbow multiplier bombs land on the reels carrying random values between 2x and 100x. They don't do anything immediately. When a tumble sequence finishes and the final payout calculates, all bomb values currently on screen get added together and applied to that win. Two bombs showing 25x and 50x means a 75x multiplier on whatever the tumble chain just produced. Retriggers award 5 extra spins from three scatters, with no cap, and longer sessions mean more chances for bombs to stack. That accumulation is where the game's biggest payouts come from.
The Ante Bet bumps your stake by 25% and roughly doubles how often scatters appear - useful if base game trigger rates feel slow, though wins still pay based on the original bet amount, not the inflated one. It also locks out the 100x buy option, which skips straight to free spins (unavailable in the UK and some other markets). The Sweet Bonanza 1000 sequel later pushed the multiplier ceiling to 1000x per bomb, but the original's 100x cap still produces enough variance to keep sessions unpredictable after all these years.
