Taboo launched at ICE London 2018 and immediately became the most talked-about game on the show floor, though not entirely for its mechanics. Conditional Expanding Wilds

The Wild (a red studded leather cushion) appears on reels 2, 3, and 4 only. It expands to fill its entire reel, but with a condition: expansion happens only when it completes a winning combination. If the Wild lands on reel 3 and covering the full reel creates at least one new payline hit, it expands. If not, it stays in its single position. This makes the Wild behavior less predictable than typical expanding wilds, where the expansion is automatic regardless of outcome.

One quirk: the Wild substitutes for the Scatter (high-heeled shoes) to complete Scatter wins, but it does not expand when doing so. It replaces only one Scatter per reel in those combinations.

Triskele Wheel Into the Red Room

Three Triskele symbols on reels 3, 4, and 5 trigger the bonus. The Triskele is the universal BDSM emblem, and it gates access to a two-stage feature.

Stage one: the Triskele Wheel. A 24-sector wheel holds multipliers of 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, and 25x total bet across 20 sectors, with 4 sectors marked BONUS. You get three spins. At a €0.25 bet, that costs €27.25. The buy option uses the lower RTP tier (93.77%), and winnings from purchased bonuses are not eligible for the Risk Game. Risk Game Odds Are Uneven

Taboo includes Endorphina's standard card-draw gamble feature. Beat the dealer's card to double your win, up to 10 consecutive attempts. The game publishes its exact probabilities per dealer card in the help section, and the numbers reveal something important: the average per-round return is 84%. Your odds swing wildly depending on the dealer draw. A dealer 2 gives you 162% expected return. A dealer Ace drops you to 42%. The Joker beats everything and never appears for the dealer. Knowing these odds makes the gamble feature a calculated decision rather than a coin flip.

Distribution and the Theme Tax

The adult content restricts where Taboo shows up. It's available in roughly 50 countries, far fewer than a typical Endorphina title. Some operators block it entirely regardless of jurisdiction. Endorphina groups it informally with Twerk and Diamond Vapor as their adult-themed trio, though these three share zero mechanical connections.

The Triskele Wheel and Red Room combination gives Taboo a bonus structure with genuine tension and player agency. But the base game runs on 2018-era mechanics with no cascades, no multiplier progression, and payline wins that lean heavily on a single premium symbol.
