ELK Studios built J-POP with expanding rows up to 262,144 ways, then Night Trax on a completely different diagonal payline system, then DJ Wild on a vintage 10-line both-ways format. Three music games, three engines with nothing in common.

That's the pattern across the whole category. Crystal Hall from Play'n GO tops out at 50,000x with sticky wilds in an expanding grid. Smoke'Em matches that ceiling but uses scatter pays on a 6x5 layout. Samba Reels caps at 500x on 25 lines. The gap between the highest and lowest max win here is 100 to 1.

Music slots don't cluster around a shared mechanic the way cartoon or horror games do. The theme is pure atmosphere - a soundtrack and some stage lights bolted onto whatever engine the studio was already building.
