Zappy doesn't leave. Most wilds do their job - substitute, pay, disappear. This one sticks around, jumping to a new random position after every winning cluster it participates in. Each time Zappy lands as part of a win, it zaps all Dr. Mayhem blocker symbols off the grid and raises its own multiplier by one step. On the final zap attack of a round, it can expand to 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4 - a wild block covering up to 16 positions on the board, carrying whatever multiplier it accumulated. Dark teal laboratory walls, bubbling green vials, moonlit arched windows. Eight cartoon monster types fill the grid in orange, pink, green, blue, and purple, with Zappy as a crackling yellow lightning ball bouncing between them.
The Monster Meter tracks every symbol position inside every winning cluster. Twenty-five steps to fill. A full meter awards either a Monster Feature or a Feature Symbol, then resets. Fill it five times in one round and Shockwaves fires - all five Monster Features activate back-to-back: Monster Reload (forces a fresh symbol drop when cascades stall), Wild Flip (converts every instance of one random symbol type to wilds), Monster Chunks (creates 2x2 big symbols from random positions), Monstrous (expands one symbol to 3x3, 4x4, or 5x5), and Zapocalypse. That last one drops Dr. Mayhem blockers onto the grid specifically so Zappy can zap them off - a forced activation that builds Zappy's multiplier on demand. For 100x through the X-iter, Shockwaves triggers immediately. The 500x tier guarantees a Monstrous 5x5 symbol on entry and loads the meter toward Monstrous and Monster Chunks exclusively until Shockwaves fires. At 3x, the meter shortens to 20 steps. At 25x, you start with a pending Monster Feature and the meter skips Feature Symbols entirely.
Feature Symbols run parallel to Monster Features but work differently. Omniblast fires an X-shaped beam that converts everything in its path to one random symbol type. Electroshift upgrades all instances of one symbol to the next pay tier. Twilight Twirl wipes the grid down to a single surviving symbol type and converts itself to match. When these drop in naturally during cascades, they double as wilds. When the meter awards them, they're placed directly and activate on the spot. The activation order is fixed - Omniblast first, then Electroshift, then Twilight Twirl - which matters when multiple stack. An Omniblast converting half the grid to one type, followed by Electroshift upgrading that type, followed by Twilight Twirl keeping only one type... the sequencing can reshape 49 positions in three moves. Similar energy to Nightmaker's feature stacking, but with a meter-driven buildup instead of random triggers.
