Playson's clover hold-and-win returns with a twelve-segment wheel bolted to the front of every bonus round: six cash clovers, three feature clovers, and three jackpot clovers worth 15x, 30x and 100x. The board expands to 5x5 in the Super Bonus, where multipliers resolve before the Collect sweep.

4 Supercharged Clovers: Super Wheel Slot Overview

A neon fruit machine sitting inside a giant prize wheel, and the wheel is the whole idea: every bonus round opens with a spin of it before a single respin gets played.

Underneath that it is a hold and win. Five reels, three rows, five fixed paylines, cherries and lemons and a fat gold bell. Gold clovers land carrying cash values and pay nothing whatsoever in the main game, which sounds harsh until the bonus arrives and the board turns almost entirely to clovers. The round is capped at 15,000x, and five jackpot plaques run down the left rail from MINI at 15x up to SUPER at 10,000x.

This is the fourth Supercharged title and a straight sequel to the clover hold and win Playson put out in February. Same three coloured feature clovers, same expanding bonus board. The wheel is the new part, and it is a better addition than most sequels bother with.

Theme & Design

Irish luck plugged into the mains. The 5x3 grid sits inside an enormous chrome-rimmed wheel that fills the frame, everything lit by crackling blue lightning against near black, gold 5x, 10x and MAJOR segments arcing across the top and heaps of gold clover coins piled along the rim. Symbols are classic bar-top fruit in heavy gloss: plum, lemon, orange, cherries, grapes, watermelon, a fat gold bell, a yellow BAR plaque, and a red 7 doing wild duty.

The clovers carry the identity. A diamond-cut Super Clover throwing white light, three neon feature clovers in pink, blue and green captioned MULTI, COLLECT and MYSTERY, and gold clovers with their cash value stamped across the petals. Five jackpot plaques stack down the left rail, SUPER at the top, MINI at the bottom, rescaling as the stake moves. One honest gripe about all that chrome: the wheel turning behind the reels during normal play is scenery and nothing else, which the game admits outright, and the main game loses a bit of its charge once that lands.

Features & How They Work

The Super Wheel

Every Bonus Game and Super Bonus Game opens with the wheel, no exceptions. Twelve segments: six plain clovers worth 3x, 4x, 6x, 8x, 9x and 10x the total bet, three feature clovers handing over Multi, Collect or Mystery, and three jackpot clovers carrying MINI at 15x, MINOR at 30x and MAJOR at 100x. One segment in twelve therefore banks the MAJOR before the round has properly begun. A feature clover off the wheel either adds a feature the round did not have or upgrades the one it did, and whatever it lands on, at least six clover symbols are sitting on the board once the wheel has finished.

Bonus Game and the respin counter

Three clover piles sit above the reels, one per colour, each collecting feature clovers of its own colour until it fires. Which piles fired decides which features the round runs, so a round can carry one, two or all three. Inside, it plays as hold and win: three respins, reset back to three by every new symbol that lands, ending when the counter empties or the board fills. Gold clovers show values from 1x up to 7x the total bet and all of them pay together at the end. An Extra Feature Symbol can also land mid round and turn into a random coloured clover, which is how a round already in progress gets upgraded.

Multi, Collect and Mystery

Pink is Multi. Each pink clover drops three multiplier frames worth x2, x3 and x5 onto empty cells, then takes a value of 2x to 10x for itself; once the board runs out of empty cells the frames stack onto each other and add up, and a clover landing on a framed cell copies that multiplier elsewhere. Blue is Collect, and each blue clover sweeps every value on the board into itself. Green is Mystery, revealing either a MINI, MINOR or MAJOR jackpot clover or a flat 20x, 25x, 35x, 40x, 45x, 50x or 75x. The order matters more than any of them individually: multipliers apply to symbol values before a Collect sweeps them up, so a round running Multi and Collect together is where the 15,000x cap becomes reachable at all.

Super Bonus Game

The diamond Super Clover only ever lands in the main game, and when it does it can send the round straight to the Super Bonus. The board expands from 5x3 to 5x5, play starts with clovers and feature clovers already sitting on the reels, and the Super Clover takes a value of 7x, 8x, 9x or 10x once it gets there. A 5x3 Grand Section is marked down the middle of the bigger board, which is the second route to the GRAND.

Five fixed jackpots

MINI 15x, MINOR 30x, MAJOR 100x, GRAND 3,000x and SUPER 10,000x, all plain multiples of the total bet rather than a shared progressive pool, so the plaques simply rescale when the stake changes. The bottom three arrive from Mystery reveals or the wheel. GRAND needs 15 filled cells in the Bonus Game, or the Grand Section filled inside the Super Bonus. SUPER needs all 25 cells of the expanded board, and it replaces the collected clover values instead of adding to them, which is worth knowing before doing the arithmetic on a nearly full board.

Buy Bonus and Extra Bet

100x the total bet buys a Bonus Game with one, two or three features and a shot at the Super Bonus. The Extra Bet toggle, labelled HIGHER CHANCE FOR BONUS, runs the stake at 1.5x for better trigger odds. Both have their own RTP figures and neither value is published, so there is no telling whether the buy is priced generously.

How 4 Supercharged Clovers: Super Wheel Plays

The main game is a waiting room. Five paylines across fifteen cells means most spins return nothing or a fraction of the stake, and with the wild locked out of reel 1 the better line hits get shaved before they can form. Four low fruit on a line pays 3x. That is the texture of it.

Then the bonus lands and it is a different game entirely. The wheel resolves first, so the round opens with its award already on the board and at least six symbols down, and from there the tension moves to the respin counter emptying while gold clovers drop into the gaps. Rounds running Multi feel best, because the frames pile up in plain sight and the round visibly builds. Collect on its own resolves fast and often flatly.

Volatility is unrated: nothing in the game puts a number on it, and Playson has not published one. The one clue it carries is that the 15,000x ceiling comes up about once in ten billion rounds, which puts the top prize in lottery territory even though nothing says much about the everyday swing. One practical annoyance, and it will grate: a full Super Bonus takes a dozen or more manual spin presses to play out.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Every bonus round opens with a guaranteed wheel spin, so it never starts cold
  • Multipliers resolve before the Collect sweep, which is where the big rounds come from
  • Five fixed jackpot tiers, plain multiples of the stake rather than a shared progressive pool
  • The Super Bonus expands the board to 5x5 and gives the round a second gear

Cons

  • The base game is dead weight: five fixed paylines, clovers that pay nothing there, and a wild that never touches reel 1
  • 95.70% RTP sits below par, and the separate buy and Extra Bet figures are not published anywhere
  • Finishing a Super Bonus takes a dozen or more manual spin presses

Is 4 Supercharged Clovers: Super Wheel Worth Playing?

7/10

The wheel earns the sequel. Bolting a guaranteed twelve-segment spin onto the front of every bonus is a small change with a large effect, and a MAJOR off that wheel refunds a 100x buy before the respins even start. Everything around it is standard Playson hold and win, built well and built before.

The price of admission is the honest problem. 95.70% sits below where this genre usually lands, and the bonus buy at 100x of total bet is steep enough that a couple of flat rounds bite. Playson also keeps the buy and Extra Bet RTPs to itself, which is common enough and still not good. The single meaningful upgrade over the February game is the wheel, and that is probably enough.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum win on 4 Supercharged Clovers: Super Wheel?

15,000x the base game bet. It is a hard cap: if a round reaches it, the round ends there and pays out immediately. The 10,000x figure quoted in a lot of places is the SUPER jackpot tier, not the ceiling.

How do you trigger the bonus round?

Pink, blue and green Feature Clovers collect in the three piles above the reels, and any of those piles can trigger the Bonus Game with the matching feature. The diamond Super Clover, which only lands in the main game, can instead trigger the Super Bonus Game on the expanded 5x5 board.

Are the jackpots progressive?

No. All five are fixed multiples of the total bet: MINI 15x, MINOR 30x, MAJOR 100x, GRAND 3,000x and SUPER 10,000x. The on-screen meters only look like they move because they rescale with the stake.

What is the RTP, and can you buy the bonus?

95.70%, and that is the only RTP figure the game carries: it displays none anywhere in play. The bonus buy costs 100x the total bet and the Extra Bet costs 1.5x the stake, and both run on their own RTP figures that Playson does not publish.

Can it be played for free, and what age do you need to be?

The demo runs on play money with no account and no deposit. Real-money play is 18+, or higher where local law says so, and the bonus buy in particular can burn through a balance quickly, so set deposit and time limits before using it.
