Bonus Epic Crown Slot Overview

Underneath the gold leaf and the crimson drapes, this is a fruit machine. Cherries, lemons, a golden bell, a red 7. What separates it from the hundred others like it is what the bonus does to the board: the paylines quadruple.

Fazi built this as the heavier version of Bonus Crown, and the difference is mostly arithmetic. The older game stretched to twenty lines in its feature and stopped around 10,400x. This one runs forty and carries a 20,108x ceiling, with 96.53% RTP, three mystery progressives ticking above the reels and a Buy Bonus badge for anyone who would rather not hunt shields.

Everything else is standard fruit machine furniture. Ten fixed lines, one wild, one scatter, a red or black gamble after wins. The bonus is the game.

Theme & Design

The presentation goes hard on royalty. A heavy baroque gold frame surrounds the reels, deep red damask curtains hang behind it, and the whole thing reads like a throne room built by someone with a large budget for gilt. Three jackpot meters sit across the top in gold, blue and silver bars. A small red medallion clipped to the left edge of the frame shows how many lines are live, and it flips from 10 to 40 when the bonus starts.

The fruit are the same glossy renders Fazi uses across half its catalogue: blue grapes with a hard specular shine, a watermelon sliced to show red flesh, a plum that looks lacquered. Fine, but nothing new. The crown and the Bonus shield are the two pieces drawn with any care, the crown all red velvet, pearls and jewelled gold arches on an ermine band, the shield a gold crest crossed with two swords under a red ribbon. Both look like they wandered in from a more expensive game.

Features & How They Work

Expanding Crown Wild

The crown lands only on reels two, three and four. When it does it fills the whole reel and stands in for every symbol except the Bonus shield. That last exclusion matters more than it sounds: the wild will never help reach a free-spins trigger, no matter how much of the middle it covers.

Because it stays off reels one and five, the crown cannot start or finish a line on its own. Five of a kind still needs both outer reels to land the symbol naturally, which is why the crown works more as a win-thickener than a prize-maker.

Bonus Shield Free Spins

Three shields award 10 free spins, four award 15, five award 20. They pay nothing by themselves; they exist to open the round. Once inside, the active paylines go from 10 to 40 while the paytable stays exactly the same, so every drop is being read four times over. The game draws all forty patterns out for you in its info pages, two rows of little grid diagrams, and the last dozen are shapes no classic slot has any business using.

The round retriggers. Four or five more shields during the feature add to the counter, and there is no multiplier and no extra wild inside, so the bonus pays purely by coverage. Long retriggered runs are where the top prize lives.

Buy Bonus

A green Buy Bonus badge sits in the top right corner and drops you straight into the free spins. Handy if the shield hunt is testing your patience, and it will.

Gold, Diamond and Platinum Mystery Jackpots

Three progressive meters run above the reels and pay at a point picked at random between a starting and a maximum value, so nothing on the board signals a hit. Every base-game spin feeds a slice of the bet into them, and a bigger bet buys a bigger chance. Their combined contribution to the return is 0.14%, split 0.06% Gold, 0.05% Diamond and 0.03% Platinum, which makes them a garnish on the 96.53% rather than a reason to play.

Red or Black Gamble

After any win the x2 button opens a red or black call. Guess right and the win doubles, guess wrong and the whole thing is gone and the round ends. The gamble ceiling is 50,000, which given the 2.00 maximum bet is more headroom than most sessions will ever reach.

How Bonus Epic Crown Plays

The base game is quiet. Ten lines across fifteen positions with eight paying symbols means wins arrive fairly often and are almost always small, a lemon trio here, three cherries there, the kind of trickle that drains a balance slowly rather than dropping it off a cliff. The red 7 paying from two of a kind is what keeps it from feeling dead.

So the session shape is simple. You are waiting, and the crown sitting in the middle of the board keeps reminding you what the game could look like if things were busier. That is either decent tension or a long wait, depending on your patience.

Inside the feature the rhythm changes completely. Wins pile on top of each other because the same three rows are being read from every direction at once, and a board that would have been a shrug moments earlier suddenly pays four or five ways together. It is a blunt kind of excitement, no ladder to climb, just more of everything landing at the same time. For my money that is a fair trade in a classic-format game, though anyone used to modern multiplier bonuses will probably find it thin.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • The bonus quadruples the payline count instead of just repeating the base round with a spin counter
  • Red 7 pays from two of a kind, which keeps a small trickle going between features
  • Retriggers on four or five shields can push the round well past its starting count
  • Buy Bonus button, plus three mystery jackpots that any bet size qualifies for

Cons

  • Maximum bet of 2.00 caps what that 20,108x headline is actually worth in cash
  • No multipliers anywhere, in the base game or in the feature
  • The crown wild never reaches reels one or five, so the biggest line wins still need both outer reels to cooperate
  • Fazi publishes neither a volatility rating nor a hit frequency for it

Is Bonus Epic Crown Worth Playing?

5/10

Fazi took the simplest possible slot and gave it one good bonus idea. It works. The base game is thin and makes no secret of it, the feature is where the game happens, and the jump in coverage produces bonus rounds that look and behave differently from the spins before them, which is more than most classic-format free spins manage.

There are limits. No multiplier anywhere, a wild locked out of the outer reels, and a 2.00 bet cap that turns the 20,108x headline into roughly 40,000 in practice, a fine prize but not the number the multiplier suggests. A dice edition runs the same math with dice faces instead of fruit, if that is the version your casino carries.

Frequently Asked Questions
