Blueprint Gaming's Game of Thrones carries the full HBO license, and they've built something dense around it. Six reels, four rows, 4,096 ways to win, and a feature set that reads like a season synopsis. This is one of the most mechanically layered cash collect slots Blueprint has produced.
The base game runs on familiar territory - matching symbols from left to right across the ways grid. Low-pays start at 0.4x for three-of-a-kind, scaling up to 5x for five premium symbols. Cash prizes range from 0.5x to 15x, with four fixed jackpots: MINI (20x), MINOR (50x), MAJOR (200x), and MEGA (2,500x).
The standout mechanic is the collect upgrade system built around the great houses of Westeros. You start with Night's Watch - a basic collect that gathers cash prizes. Win with it and you unlock Stark, which holds cash and collect symbols in place while shattering other positions for new drops. Keep winning to progress through Baratheon (expanding cash reels), Lannister (boosted cash values up to 5x bet), and finally Targaryen (respinning non-collect reels up to 5 times).
Each house fundamentally changes how collect wins play out. Targaryen collects are where the real money hides - five respins with cash prizes dropping in can stack enormous payouts.
Three or more scatter symbols trigger Iron Throne Spins - 10 free rounds with a multiplier trail. Accumulate 3 collect symbols for x2 and 5 extra spins. Hit 6 for x3. Nine collects push to x5. Twelve reaches x10. That multiplier applies to all collected cash values, and it doesn't reset between spins.
A x10 multiplier on a 15x cash prize is 150x from a single symbol. Stack several of those on one spin and you're approaching the 17,000x ceiling.
Uncollected cash prizes feed a chest meter that triggers random modifiers: Bonus Blaze adds scatter symbols, Dragon Fire drops premium or wild symbols for a guaranteed win, Dragon Inferno fills entire reels with cash, Dragon Blast reshuffles for a guaranteed payout, and Dragon Fury collects cash prizes directly.
Once the Targaryen collect is unlocked, a bonus map activates. Near-miss scatter combinations (2 symbols) move you along the map, picking up upgrades: Dragon Storm (more modifier triggers), Banners of War (always-expanded collects), extra spins, added cash symbols, boosted minimum values, enhanced trail multipliers, and Super Collect crowns.
The Longclaw symbol adds another layer - land it with any collect and a sword drops down, spinning to reveal either a cash prize (5x to 2,500x) or direct entry to the Super Bonus.
The highest available RTP is 94%. Three tiers exist: 92%, 93%, and 94%. None of them crack 95%, and 92% would be painful for extended play. The HBO license costs money, and Blueprint is passing some of that cost to players through reduced returns.
For a game with 17,000x max win potential and this much feature depth, 94% at best is a genuine compromise. The gameplay is exceptional. The math is below average. That tension defines the entire experience.
