Cluster Slide does something unusual. When winning clusters clear, symbols don't just fall down - they slide left. Remaining symbols drop vertically first, then shift horizontally toward the left wall until they find a resting position. New symbols fill in from above. It's a small twist on standard avalanche mechanics, but it changes how clusters form in ways you don't expect until you play it.
The grid itself is huge: 7 columns by 8 rows, giving you 56 symbol positions. Cluster pays require 5+ connected symbols. With that much real estate, the 38.7% hit frequency makes sense - clusters form often on a board this large. RTP is 96.0%, max win is 10,000x, and bet range runs from 0.20 to 100.00 EUR.
The alien planet theme with furry cube creatures is... definitely a choice. Not everyone's cup of tea visually, but it's memorable. You won't confuse this with any other slot.
This is the core mechanic that separates Cluster Slide from generic cluster games. Above the grid sits a Generator showing a random Feature Wild type. Every symbol in a winning cluster fills the Generator's meter. Once full, that Feature Wild gets collected into your inventory. The Generator resets with a new random type, and the cycle continues.
Here's the twist: collected Feature Wilds don't activate immediately. They sit in your inventory until no more winning clusters appear naturally. Then all stored Feature Wilds release at once, each replacing 1-4 random payout symbols on the grid with copies of itself. This creates a chain reaction - the released Wilds form new clusters, which can fill the Generator again, which collects more Feature Wilds, which release again when clusters stop.
And there's a milestone bonus. Generate 5 Feature Wilds in one game round and you get an x5 multiplier added to your total. The multiplier ladder goes x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, x64 - though reaching those higher tiers requires seriously long avalanche chains.
Not all Feature Wilds are equal. When multiple types release simultaneously, they execute in a specific order: Multiplier first, then Removing, Upgrading, Random, Big Wild last.
Multiplier Wild adds +1 to your total multiplier and becomes a regular Wild. Removing Wild deletes every instance of a random symbol type from the grid (creating massive cascade potential). Upgrading Wild transforms all instances of a random symbol into the next higher-paying version. Random Wild replaces 2-4 symbols with regular Wilds. And Big Wild expands one symbol into a 2x2 block.
The Removing Wild is probably the most impactful. Wiping an entire symbol type off a 56-position grid creates enormous empty space for new symbols to fill, which often sparks another avalanche chain. I'd argue it's worth more than the Multiplier Wild in most situations.
Three Bonus symbols trigger Wild Drops - 3 rounds with escalating Wild patterns. Drop 1 converts bonus symbols to Wilds plus adds 3 random 1x1 Wilds. Drop 2 places two 2x2 Wild blocks. Drop 3 drops one massive 3x3 Wild. Each drop plays through until all avalanches resolve. Generator progress and multipliers carry into the bonus, so a strong base game lead-in makes the bonus hit harder.
X-iter gives you five options. Multiplier Start at 15x bet kicks off 3 symbol drops with a x5 starting multiplier. Moustache Collector at 25x collects high-value "moustache" symbols across 3 drops, then dumps them all on the final drop. Feature Wild Collector at 50x does the same thing but with Feature Wilds - arguably the best value option. Standard Bonus at 100x guarantees 3 Wild Drops. And Super Bonus at 300x buys 5 Wild Drops instead of 3, with retriggering possible.
The 50x Feature Wild Collector is the standout buy. It front-loads your inventory with Feature Wilds across two setup drops, then unleashes everything on the third. Smart design.
Cluster Slide packs an absurd number of systems into one slot. Generator meters, inventory collection, five Feature Wild types with execution priority, milestone multipliers, sliding gravity, escalating Wild Drops. It's genuinely complex. First-time players will need a few dozen spins just to understand what's happening.
That complexity is both the strength and the weakness. When the systems align - a long avalanche chain filling the Generator repeatedly, Feature Wilds cascading into more clusters, multipliers stacking - it produces these incredible extended sequences you'll remember. But there are also rounds where nothing connects and you're watching symbols slide left into a dead grid.
The 38.7% hit frequency keeps things moving, at least. You're winning on roughly 4 out of every 10 spins, which prevents the base game from feeling too barren. And at 96.0% RTP with 10,000x max win, the math is fair. If you enjoy mechanical depth over simplicity, Cluster Slide is one of ELK's most ambitious designs.
