AvatarUX went a different direction with this one. Instead of expanding grids or cash collectors, Crypto Bro builds its entire tension around a single idea: wilds that move. Each wild landing on the reels carries a life counter, and every time it shifts position, you get a free respin. The chain keeps going until the counter runs out. That loop is the whole game.
The setting is openly satirical - crypto culture compressed into cartoon form. The main character is a large man in a tracksuit with a gold chain and sunglasses, representing every HODL meme ever posted. Even the bonus mechanic got the crypto treatment: it's called HODL Extra Spins. The tone lands somewhere between mockery and affection for the culture it's sending up.
6 reels, 4 rows, 4096 ways to win. Symbols pay left-to-right on adjacent reels with any position counting. If multiple copies land on the same reel, win amounts multiply accordingly.
The paytable is modest by design. H1 (the Crypto Bro himself) pays 4x for a 6-of-a-kind. The rest land below 3x for a full-reel hit. Base wins alone won't do much - the game's structure pushes wins toward the Moving Wilds chain rather than the static paytable.
Wilds substitute for all symbols except Bonus. They can land anywhere from reel 2 through reel 6. Reel 1 is off-limits for wilds entirely - both on initial spins and during respins.
When a wild lands with a life counter, it triggers a respin. The counter represents how many moves the wild makes before disappearing. Each move costs one life and produces another respin. Wilds move toward reel 1 but stop before reaching it.
Multiple wilds with different life counts create layered chains. A wild with 4 lives plus another landing mid-chain produces nested respin sequences. The math gets complicated quickly, and that complexity is exactly what builds toward the large multiplier swings the game promises.
One edge case worth noting: wilds occasionally stay in the same position rather than moving, yet still award the respin. The game counts it as a "move" regardless of whether the physical position changed.
Wilds with life counters cannot land on the initial spin if Bonus Symbols are present on the same screen. The game doesn't allow both mechanics to activate simultaneously in the base game.
Three or more Bonus Symbols trigger free spins: 3 gives 7, 4 gives 9, 5 gives 12, 6 gives 15. Each additional Bonus Symbol during the feature adds +1 free spin.
During the bonus, wilds no longer trigger respins on their own. Instead, they get collected. Up to 20 wilds land in the Wilds Collector over the course of the free spins, building toward one final throw.
When the free spin counter hits zero but active wilds still carry remaining lives, HODL Extra Spins activates. The number of extra spins equals the highest life count on any wild currently on the board. This extends the collection window and can fire more than once - each extension giving more chances to fill the Wilds Collector to its 20-wild maximum.
After HODL runs out, the WHALE SPIN fires. All collected wilds are thrown onto the board simultaneously. Where multiple wilds overlap on the same position, they gain a x2 multiplier for every pay way they contribute to. The overlap multiplier caps at x2 per wild, but with 20 wilds landing at once across a 6x4 grid, the overlap potential is substantial. The 20,000x cap exists for a reason.
The Xpress Hub offers four purchase modes. Fortune Spins at 20x bet cost guarantee a wild with a life counter on the next spin - useful for triggering a Moving Wilds chain without waiting. Ante Bet at 3x multiplies bonus trigger frequency by 5x.
The two full bonus purchases: regular Bonus at 100x (7 free spins) and Bonus Max at 400x (15 free spins with the highest wild collection rate). Interestingly, buy options actually improve the RTP. Base game sits at 95.98%, Fortune Spins reach 96.02%, and Bonus Max tops out at 96.08%. The default advertised RTP of 96% reflects the overall game configuration rather than any single mode.
Bet range runs €0.10 to €300 per spin.
Three lightning bolts on the splash screen, confirmed high volatility. The Moving Wilds chain mechanic explains why - most spins produce nothing, but the occasional multi-wild respin sequence runs for extended cycles. The 20,000x cap is theoretically reachable but requires the Whale Spin to connect across a loaded 20-wild grid with significant overlap.
The satirical packaging makes this easier to sit with during the dry stretches. Not every slot can use HODL as a gameplay term and have it feel earned.
