Elysian Gold opens at 4 rows and 4,096 ways. Each winning drop removes the winning symbols, adds a new row at the top, and drops new symbols in. The grid can reach 8 rows this way, pushing ways-to-win up through 15,625 - 46,656 - 117,649 - 262,144. The 9th row is a separate unlock, available only when Icarus activates on the 8th row. The full 9th row pushes ways to 531,441 - over 130 times the starting count. The paytable doesn't scale for it specifically, but the sheer symbol count on a full 6x9 grid with 12 active paying symbols creates win combination density that isn't available in smaller-grid formats.
Big symbols appear in 4 sizes: 1x1, 2x2, 3x3, and 4x4. A 4x4 block occupies 16 positions across 4 columns and 4 rows. Empty positions below any big symbol fill automatically with 1x1 symbols of the same type.
Pandora's Box drops as a blocking symbol anywhere on the grid. During an avalanche chain, it collects all symbols that are part of wins - stripping big symbols down to 1x1 before collecting them. The box keeps collecting through every consecutive avalanche drop. When no more wins remain, the box opens, explodes, and refills the grid with everything it collected. Distribution goes row by row, largest-count symbol type placed first, most valuable used as tiebreaker.
Bonus symbols cannot be collected. An already-open box stops collecting. Once it's emptied its contents, the box is removed from the grid. In the Super Bonus X-iter mode, Pandora's Box is persistent: it collects from the very first free drop all the way through the last, releasing everything only after the final drop concludes.
Icarus symbols appear as 1x1 or 2x2 versions. Two or more Icarus symbols anywhere on the grid trigger when no more wins remain: each Icarus symbol, plus every symbol directly above it in its column, gets replaced with new paying symbols. If the activation happens at row 8, a 9th row opens above. Bonus symbols and Pandora's Box are not affected. Wild symbols are not replaced. A big Icarus symbol, unusually, fills empty spaces below it with 1x1 wild symbols rather than the same symbol type.
Split symbols give any paying symbol a split marker. When a split symbol lands, every instance of that symbol type visible on the grid is split - each one counts as two individual symbols for win evaluation. Big symbols break to 1x1 before splitting applies.
Wild Forge locks in position when it lands - gravity doesn't move it. After each avalanche explosion creates empty spaces below the Wild Forge, those spaces fill with wild symbols. A Wild Forge placed high on a growing grid progressively generates more wilds below it as the grid expands. In the bonus game, Wild Forges persist through every remaining free drop.
Three or more bonus scatter symbols trigger the Free Drops bonus. Three symbols award 10 drops; four award 15; five award 20; six award 25. Retriggers are possible with 3+ bonus symbols during the bonus, adding the same amounts.
Two mechanics change in bonus mode. First, all wild symbols are sticky - they don't disappear after contributing to wins. Second, the Safety Level tracks how many winning drops have occurred. Each winning drop advances the Safety Level by one row. Every new free drop starts from the current Safety Level floor rather than from row 4. A bonus where early drops consistently win will run later drops on a larger starting grid, compounding the ways advantage throughout the round. Hit frequency: 21.0%, the lowest in this ELK batch. RTP: 94%, single tier.
