Fist of Destruction puts two anime-styled street fighters beside a 5x4 grid with 14 paylines. The core mechanic is the Fist symbol - when it lands, it expands upward from its position to the top of the reel, converting everything above it into a Wild Reel. But it only activates if that expansion would create at least one winning combination. No free wilds here.
The Fist picks up multipliers on the way up. Every time the expanding wild passes through a fighter symbol from the opposing team or a regular Wild symbol, it gets a multiplier added. Values range from 2x to 200x. If two Fist Wild Reels both contribute to the same winning combination, their multipliers get added together. A Red Fist picking up 50x on reel 2 and a Blue Fist picking up 25x on reel 4, both part of the same payline - that's a 75x multiplier on that win.
The "Choose Your Fighter" button lets you pick which characters flank the grid. Pure cosmetic. The math stays the same regardless of who's throwing punches.
Three scatters trigger Throwdown - 10 free spins where both Red and Blue teams compete. Each team starts at Victory Level 3+. When a Fist punches through an opponent's fighter or a Wild, that team earns a Victory Point. Three points triggers an Epic Drop respin: the game guarantees Fist symbols landing based on the team's Victory Level. Level 3+ means at least 3 Fists. Level 4+ means 4. Level 5+ fills all 5 reels with Fists.
After each Epic Drop, the triggering team's Victory Level increases by 1. So an early Epic Drop at Level 3+ sets up a later one at Level 4+, and eventually 5+ where every reel gets a Fist. Each of those Fists expands upward, each grabs multipliers from fighters it passes through. Five simultaneous Fist Wild Reels on a 5x4 grid is where the 10,000x cap comes into play.
Ultimate Throwdown needs 4 scatters and starts both teams at Victory Level 4+ instead of 3+. It reaches full-grid Fist coverage one Epic Drop sooner. Buying it costs 250x bet versus 100x for the regular Throwdown.
Five purchase options. BonusHunt at 3x per spin with boosted trigger rates is the lightest commitment. Uppercut at 50x guarantees at least 3 Fist symbols every spin in the base game. Epic Drop at 150x guarantees 4+ Fist symbols per spin - that's the base game with consistent expanding wild coverage across most reels.
The gap between Epic Drop FeatureSpins at 150x and Throwdown at 100x is interesting. Epic Drop gives immediate Fist density every spin, while Throwdown gives the Victory Level escalation mechanic over 10 spins. Throwdown builds toward bigger moments. Epic Drop delivers consistent mid-range hits. Different value propositions depending on how much variance you want.
Low pays are flat - all four return 2x bet for 5-of-a-kind. High pays range from 5x to 10x. Without Fist activation, spins produce small returns from a 14-payline layout. Hacksaw's expanding wild mechanic carries the game - it's the same engine behind Cursed Seas and Beast Below, wrapped in a fighting-game skin with the Victory Level progression layered on top. That progression is what separates this from the other expanding wild titles in Hacksaw's catalog. The escalation from Level 3 to Level 5 during a single bonus creates a comeback mechanic that the pirate and sea creature themes didn't have.
