I've been spinning Pragmatic Play's Bubble Up! (released back in August 2026), and it's a pretty interesting release. It features a bright, cartoony coral reef theme set on a large 6x6 grid. The core gimmick is simple but keeps you on your toes: money symbols land on the board, but you only actually win their value if a randomly dropping "frame" happens to land right on top of them.

Getting into the free spins requires three to six scatters, which gives you six spins and up to four modifiers. Before the round starts, you play a quick pick-and-match coin game to reveal your upgrades. These can be really helpful: you might get extra money symbols on the reels, more scatters, a bigger starting frame, or even a guaranteed second frame on every spin.

I bought the bonus for 100x my bet. I triggered it with the minimum three scatters, meaning I only got one modifier. Fortunately, my picks revealed the "size upgrade," so my frame started at a generous 3x3 instead of the default 2x2.

From there, the scatter collection trail did all the heavy lifting. Every time you collect three scatters, your frame grows (all the way up to the full 6x6 board) and you get two extra spins. I managed to grow my frame to 5x5 and picked up four extra spins along the way. Once the frame was covering most of the screen, the money symbols really started hitting. My best spin caught a 20x coin and a few smaller pufferfish inside the 5x5 boundary for a 42x payout, and I walked away with a total return of 127x my bet.

It was a solid, profitable bonus, but because I only had one frame active, I completely missed out on the game's biggest multiplier feature: if you have two frames and they overlap, any coins caught in the shared space get a multiplier up to 10x.

If you don't want to wait for the bonus, the game offers a few special bets that change how the frames arrive, but be warned: they are incredibly volatile.

You can pay 1.5x your stake for an Ante Bet to get more modifiers when the bonus triggers naturally. Then there are the "Super Spins." These cost 20x (for one guaranteed frame) or 100x (for two guaranteed frames). Scatters are removed for these spins, so it's all about catching coins.

Here is the hard truth about this mechanic: you are buying the frames, not the money symbols. Nothing in a Super Spin promises that a coin lands on the board. The frames arrive exactly as promised, and on the 100x version the pair can even overlap, but whether any money symbols sit inside them is left to the reels. A frame over ordinary fish pays nothing as money, however much the spin cost. It's a harsh reminder of how fast this game can eat your balance if you get unlucky.

For those who play a lot of Pragmatic titles, Bubble Up! feels a bit like Sky Bounty because of the 6x6 grid, though this one has a better RTP (96.52%) and a higher max win of 10,000x. Thematically, it's obviously close to Sharks!, which shares its 10,000x max win and high volatility but plays totally differently (relying on multiplier wilds rather than frames). Outside of Pragmatic, the frame collection mechanic will also appear in Booming Games' upcoming Goldline Express, though the frames here redraw randomly every spin instead of walking down the screen.

One thing I really appreciate about Bubble Up! is that the special bets are actually somewhat affordable. Recent Pragmatic games like Eastern Fury or Moon Rush have been charging 250x to 300x for their top Super Spins. Capping the top buy-in at 100x here makes it a lot more accessible.

All told, it's a fun, good-looking slot with a really rewarding bonus round if you can get the frame to grow. Just be incredibly careful with those Super Spins: they can be absolute balance-killers!
