Released in August 2026, Backseat Gaming's Draw at Dusk takes the classic Western slot theme and drops it onto a massive 7x5 grid. The whole game hinges on a single, make-or-break duel mechanic. Depending on which bonus tier you trigger (or buy), this coin-flip concept can feel either incredibly rewarding or brutally harsh.

Draw at Dusk free spin on the 7x5 board, Quickdraw Carter on reel 1 and Deadshot Vance on reel 7, multiplier Wilds of 10x, 5x, 4x and 2x scattered across the grid and a pistols line marked 50.00x22
This is what winning the duel looks like in the 800x bonus: Carter scatters his Wilds, and every one the pistols line crosses adds its multiplier to the sum.

The Duel & The Bonus Buys

The main event triggers when Quickdraw Carter lands on reel 1 and Deadshot Vance hits reel 7. You get 10 free spins, with both gunslingers locked in as plain Wild Reels on the edges for the whole round. Before every spin, they shoot it out. Whoever wins dictates what happens next, and the feature buy menu prices its three tiers entirely around how much a lost duel is going to hurt you.

Quickdraw bonus free spin with Carter's Wilds carrying 7x and 5x multipliers on the board
In the Quickdraw Bonus only a Carter win counts, and when he takes the duel his Wilds land with their own multipliers on them.
  • The Quickdraw Bonus (150x bet): Here, you're rooting exclusively for Carter. If he wins, he tosses 2 to 10 multiplier Wilds (ranging from 2x to 100x) onto the grid. If Vance wins? You get a dead spin with nothing but the two edge wilds. In my session, Vance won seven out of ten duels, leaving the board completely lifeless. Luckily, Carter clutched three spins in a row and I managed to just scrape past the buy-in cost, but it was a sweat.
  • The Deadshot Bonus (300x bet): This tier flips the script. Now you need Vance to win to drop up to five full Wild Reels (also with 2x-100x multipliers). I had worse luck here. Vance won six times, but with modest multipliers, and the feature only paid back about half of what it cost. The buy menu rates it medium volatility.
  • The Deadshot vs Quickdraw Bonus (800x bet): This is the massive super bonus, and it removes the dead spins entirely. Every single spin guarantees either Carter's Wilds or Vance's Wild Reels. I bought this top tier and it was a blast. All ten spins paid out, climaxing when Carter dropped seven Wilds that added up to a 22x multiplier along a full line of pistols. I walked away with nearly three times my buy-in.

A quick note on the math: Multipliers on a winning line here add together rather than multiply each other. Because of this, you really need a long line of high-value Wilds to get anywhere near the game's 12,500x max win cap. The default RTP is 96.01%, and the studio also lists 94.01%, 92.01% and 90.01% versions for operators.

The Deadshot Bonus flips it: Vance wins the duel and drops a whole Wild Reel, so every line crossing that reel gets the multiplier.

If you prefer to grind the base game, you aren't left out. You can pay 2x your bet for a "Bonus Boost" to up your chances of a natural trigger, or drop 50x per spin for "Duel Spins," which guarantees both gunslingers land every time.

How It Compares

If you play a lot of slots, Draw at Dusk will feel familiar. It's Backseat's only line-pay slot on a wide 7x5 layout, but its adding Wild Reel multipliers turn up across their other games. It has the same Western vibe and 12,500x cap as Toad Town (though it lacks that game's global multiplier), and Born in Hell runs the same adding Wild Reels up to 1,000x on a 6x4 board with a 15,000x cap.

Looking at the wider industry, the "duel" concept has plenty of company. Hacksaw's Buried by Night, due in November, does something similar across rows, and Pragmatic's Zeus vs Hades - Gods of War features similar 100x wild reels.

The biggest difference between this game and something like Zeus vs Hades is that Draw at Dusk doesn't let its multiplier Wilds stick. The board wipes clean of multipliers after every spin. That lack of stickiness makes the cheaper bonus rounds feel incredibly harsh when the duels don't go your way.

It's a beautifully designed game with a really fun core mechanic, but the fact that you have to pay 800x your bet just to guarantee action on every free spin makes it a tough recommendation for casual players. It's a fair game, but an unforgiving one. Approach with caution, and maybe stick to the base game features if you don't have the bankroll to absorb a few dead bonus rounds.

Seven reels by five rows: no other Backseat Gaming line slot runs this wide, and lines can stretch to seven of a kind.
