Released back in August 2026, Eastern Fury takes Pragmatic Play's familiar 5x5 grid and drops it right into the middle of a neon-lit gang war. If you've played Zeus vs Hades - Gods of War, you'll recognize the core mechanic immediately: locked, expanding multiplier wilds. However, the math here is a bit more forgiving.

Eastern Fury 5x5 board with two expanded wild reels, x5 on reel 4 and x2 on reel 5, and three tigers on the top line running into them
When the wild on reel 5 finds no win, the game respins for free and adds a wild reel on reel 4. A line that runs through both pays at the two multipliers added together.

The Free Spins: High Potential, But Placement is Everything

You trigger the bonus by landing three to five scatters, which awards between 10 and 20 free spins. If one of those happens to be a Gold Super Scatter, you get upgraded to the Super Free Spins.

During the bonus, the expanding wilds are the stars of the show. When a wild lands, it fills the whole reel, grabs a random multiplier (between 2x and 100x), and locks in place for the rest of the feature. If you get multiple wilds in a winning line, their multipliers add together rather than multiply.

A 100x reel and a 20x reel locked in by the third spin, so any three matching symbols on the left side paid at 120x. Even a lowly red dragon line was worth 120x the bet.

But there's a massive snag that you need to be aware of: the wilds are forced to land right-to-left. Your first wild will always land on reel 5, the next on reel 4, and so on. Because the game pays left-to-right, a big multiplier sitting on reel 5 does nothing unless you manage to connect a full 5-of-a-kind line to reach it.

The 100x buy is the same round in miniature: the wilds did stick, but they came late and small, and 5x on the right side can't rescue a round with two spins left.

I bought both bonus options, and here is how each round went:

  • The 100x Free Spins buy: This draws from the standard multiplier pool. It's highly volatile. My run was a complete dud: I got a 3x wild on reel 5 and a 2x on reel 4 late in the round, returning a tiny fraction of my buy-in.
  • The 500x Super Free Spins buy: This guarantees a Super Scatter, meaning your wild multipliers will only be between 10x and 100x. This really showed off both the game's massive potential and its main frustration. I had a 100x wild lock on reel 5 early on, followed by a 20x on reel 4. For a few spins, I was hitting big payouts (getting me into profit), but the second half of the bonus was completely dead because I couldn't get any symbols to line up on the first three reels to trigger that massive 120x combo.

The Special Bets (And a Warning on the Math)

If you don't want to buy the bonus outright, there are a few side-bets on the rail. The standard Ante Bet costs 5x your stake and boosts your chances of naturally triggering the bonus.

Then there are the Super Spins. Super Spin 1 costs 20x your bet and guarantees an expanding wild on reel 5 every spin. Super Spin 2 costs a hefty 300x your bet, doing the same thing but guaranteeing the multiplier will be between 10x and 100x. (Note: Scatters are removed if you use these).

A quick word of warning on that 300x bet: Because the game's max win is hard-capped at 10,000x your base bet, paying 300x for a spin means the absolute most you can win is about 34 times the price you just paid for the feature. Given that the guaranteed wild lands on reel 5, where it's hardest to reach, this top-tier bet is a very risky proposition that doesn't offer a great risk-to-reward ratio.

Eastern Fury Super Spin 2 spin with a 50x expanding wild forming on reel 5 while three tigers pay on a diagonal across reels 1 to 3
The respin only comes when the spin has no win at all. A small line elsewhere on the board counts as that win, so a big wild on reel 5 can sit there with nothing running into it.

Where it Sits in the Lineup

Eastern Fury runs the same wild shape as Zeus vs Hades, at medium volatility. While the older game is brutal (15,000x max win, lower hit rate), Eastern Fury softens the blows. It bumps the RTP up to a very respectable 96.53%, increases the hit rate to nearly 24%, and caps the max win at 10,000x.

It's a fun, visually great game, but it does require some patience. Unlike similar games, like Thunder vs Underworld 250 (where wilds only expand if they complete a win) or Ra vs Osiris (where the wilds walk a reel to the left on each free respin), Eastern Fury leaves every wild where it lands, starting from the right side of the board.

The Verdict: It's a fair, balanced slot that offers a slightly smoother ride than Pragmatic's ultra-volatile heavy hitters. Just be prepared for the sheer frustration of staring at a 100x wild on reel 5 while your first three reels refuse to connect!
