Sari-Sari Shop Slot Review

I've been spinning Riddec Games' new release, Sari-Sari Shop, and I gotta say, it's a really fun change of pace for them. Their recent releases, Ultimate KO and Primal Fury, were compact 3x3 grids with a 7,500x max win. This time, they've blown the doors off with a massive 7x7 cascading board and bumped the max win up to 10,000x. It's a crowded genre, but this one definitely holds its own.

First off, the theme is fantastic. It's set in a Filipino corner store, and you can tell the designers actually cared about what they were making. You've got Tita Nene hanging out at the counter in her curlers, and the board is full of roast lechon, ube ice cream, and fruit salad. Even the background shelves are stocked with fake brands that look totally real. It has so much more personality than your standard, copy-paste candy or gem slot.

If you've played any match-three or cluster games, you'll feel right at home. You need five matching symbols touching to get a payout, which then pop and let new symbols drop in.

The main gimmick here is the multiplier symbol, which looks like a little bag of sweets. In the base game, these bags are fleeting: they only last for one cascade. If you hit a winning cluster, any bags on the board add together and multiply your win. But, if you don't get a cluster, the bags just vanish. Because there are no wilds in the game, I honestly had quite a few moments where a juicy 9x or 11x worth of bags landed, only to go completely unused. The base game is definitely the quieter, slower part of the slot: it is really just the road to the bonus.

This is where the game gets really good. You need four scatters to trigger 15 free spins (up to 30 spins if you manage to land seven).

Once you're in the bonus, those multiplier bags stop disappearing. Every single bag that lands adds its value to a global counter that never resets. It doesn't even matter if the bag lands on a dead spin; it still gets added to your total. Because of this, the round just gets stronger and stronger the longer it goes. During my "Super" bonus round, my counter climbed past 100x. On one spin, I hit a 270x payout on a board that didn't even have a new multiplier bag on it: it was entirely driven by the massive counter I'd built up. (For context, the bags can drop with values anywhere from 2x to 500x).

If you're into bonus buys, the standard 15-spin round costs 100x your stake. There's also a Super Free Spins option for 500x, which gives you 20 spins and bigger bags: in my round none landed lower than 5x. I got pretty lucky in my session: my 100x buy paid back 164.5x, and my 500x buy returned 664.3x. Obviously, that's just good luck and not a guarantee, but it shows how crazy that persistent counter can get.

Just a quick warning if you mess around with the special bets (like paying 250x for a guaranteed 50x bag): the game guarantees the bag, not the win. Even a board full of 50x bags pays nothing unless a cluster connects.

If you like games like Sugar Rush or Whale Rush, you should absolutely give Sari-Sari Shop a spin. It takes the classic 7x7 format and adds a really clever twist by making the multipliers temporary in the base game but permanent in the bonus.

The only slight bummer is the RTP, which sits at 95.02%. It's a little lower than some of its competitors, which is worth keeping in mind if you're planning a super long session. But combined with the high volatility, the 10,000x potential, and a theme full of genuine charm, I think Riddec knocked their first cluster-pays game out of the park.
