Pragmatic Play brought back the familiar candy grid in January 2026, this time with a Super Scatter twist. If you've played Sugar Rush 1000, you already know the core 7x7 gameplay here. This direct sequel doesn't change the formula, but it does add a massive new cash-prize scatter and some seriously expensive betting options to the menu.

Sugar Rush Super Scatter 7x7 candy grid in the base game, with two gummy bear clusters paid and their cleared cells left marked
A normal base spin: two small bear clusters pay 1.4x between them and leave their cells marked, but in the base game those marks are gone as soon as the tumbles stop.

The Super Scatter & Free Spins

The biggest change is right in the name. Normally, landing 3 to 7 scatters gets you 10 to 30 free spins. But if a "Super Scatter" drops during that trigger, you get an instant cash prize. One pays a solid 100x your bet, but if you somehow land four of them, you instantly hit the game's staggering 50,000x max win before the free spins even start. (Good luck with that, but it's cool to know the potential is there).

Once you're in the bonus, it plays exactly like the Sugar Rush we know. Winning clusters explode, leaving behind multiplier spots that double (up to x1024) with every new win in that cell. Unlike the base game where the board wipes clean between spins, these multipliers stick around for the whole bonus round.

Free spins with x2 and x4 multiplier spots still on the grid from earlier spins while new candies drop in
Two spins from the end of the bonus, the x2 and x4 spots from earlier spins are still sitting there. That carry-over is what the free spins are for.

High-Volatility Bonus Buys

If you're into buying bonuses, be prepared for some brutal volatility. The standard bonus costs 100x your bet. I gave it a try, got the minimum 10 spins, and walked away with a measly 13x return. The early spins were mostly just spent marking up the grid, and I didn't see anything higher than a x16 cell until my ninth spin.

There's also a massive 500x "Super Free Spins" buy that skips the slow build-up by starting the round with a x2 multiplier already printed on all 49 cells. I bought this one too, and it only paid back about 40% of what it cost. However, I definitely saw the potential, on the seventh spin, a few cheap clusters landed on spots adding up to x120, paying out 133x all on their own. It's very boom-or-bust.

Super Free Spins opening with an x2 multiplier printed on every one of the 49 cells before any win
The 500x Super Free Spins open with x2 on every cell, so the very first cluster already pays double instead of spending spins marking the grid.

Expensive Special Bets

The game also offers some intense per-spin special bets. There's a 5x Ante Bet to boost your chances of hitting free spins naturally, plus two "Super Spins." Super Spin 1 costs 10x your bet and drops random multipliers up to x128.

Super Spin 2 is a wild 250x your base bet per spin, but it starts every single cell at x32. I tried one of these, and the repeat hits quickly doubled the board to x256 and higher. A tiny 5-symbol cluster that usually pays 1x ended up paying out 352x. I walked away with about 2.8x my 250x investment, but keep in mind this mode is strictly capped: it can't pay out more than 200x its own cost.

Sugar Rush Super Scatter is a clear step up in pure potential, but it feels like a lateral move in terms of actual gameplay.

Let's look at the progression: The 2022 original capped at a 5,000x max win. The 1000 version bumped that to 25,000x. Now, we're at 50,000x. The RTP sits at a slightly higher 96.58%, but the hit frequency has dropped to 32.26%, making the base game feel a bit harsher.

Mechanically, you're getting entirely recycled tumble features and doubling multipliers. The special bets have close relatives in Pragmatic's own Jade Legends and Microgaming's Whale Rush (which uses this exact doubling mechanic but stops at a 10,000x max win).

This is the exact same core game we've been playing since 2022, just tied to Pragmatic's new high-limit "Super Scatter" brand. It pushes the multiplier mechanic to its absolute limit from the very first tumble, and the lowered hit rate and expensive buy-ins make it a steep game to sit with.

Super Spin 2 active at 250x with x32 and x64 cells under the candies and two bear clusters paying 48x each
Super Spin 2 mid-tumble: every cell started at x32, so two bear clusters that pay next to nothing on a normal spin come back at 48x each.
