AvatarUX has been quietly pumping out a lot of games lately. We all know them for their crazy shifting reels (PopWins, anyone?), so a plain 7x7 grid that never moves is a bit of a departure - Crazy Mart Bonanza is the only other one they've built on this board. Tempting Treats is their latest release, and let's be honest: they are looking right at heavyweights like Sugar Rush and trying to steal their lunch money. They've taken that familiar "multiplier spot" mechanic and slapped a walking wild onto it.

First off, the theme is a bit weird. It's supposed to be a Halloween sweet shop, but it honestly looks like two different art departments made the game without talking to each other. The grid is just a pile of standard, brightly colored candy, but the witch (who acts as the wild) is drawn with this intense, spooky detail that doesn't match the candy at all. They also gave the win cascades names like "Sweet Treats" and "Hex Treat," which feels like some copywriter was just having a bit of seasonal fun. Basically, it's a standard candy game wearing a cheap Halloween costume.

This is the base game working without any help from the wilds, and it's about as good as that gets. The counter is on 2.60 mid-cascade and the round finished at 6.50x.

Let's talk numbers real quick:

The default RTP is 96.16%, but check your casino before you play because they can lower it to 94.06% or even 90.94%. The volatility is high (there's even a "Super High" option), and the max win is capped at 10,000x your bet.

Three bolts out of four, and 10,000x on the board before you've pressed anything. Worth knowing the same game ships in a Super High build too, so the meter isn't fixed.

How it actually plays:

In this game, the symbols themselves pay absolute peanuts. You need a 19-symbol cluster of the best one just to win your money back. The entire game is about the grid spots. When you get a winning cluster of 5 or more, they pop and leave a 1x multiplier on those squares. Win on those squares again, and the multiplier goes up. In the base game, they cap at 50x and reset on every new spin.

The coolest part of the game is the Walking Wild (the witch). When she's part of a win, she doesn't disappear. Instead, she steps to a new spot, dragging her multiplier with her and adding it to the new square. Drop three of these wilds on one spin and they can bounce around, walking their multipliers into each other. One base round did exactly that for me and came back at 60.60x off a single stake, with a cell that hit the 50x cap on the way.

Those little x2 marks are the whole game. The symbols underneath them pay next to nothing, so every round that matters is really a round about how high those squares climbed.

The Bonus & A Weird Math Quirk:

To get the free spins, you need three pumpkin scatters. Annoyingly, they only land on reels 1, 4, and 7, and they act as dead blocks that stop clusters from forming. If you get three, you win 6, 8, or 10 free spins. In the bonus, the grid spots don't reset, and the cap jumps to 500x. The best feature in the whole game is that if you trigger the bonus naturally, all the multipliers and wilds you built up on that spin carry over into the free spins.

The 7x7 grid inside free spins with persistent cell multipliers up to x39 and a running win of 51.30
Two spins left and the board is covered in numbers that survived from earlier ones. Nothing resets in here, which is exactly what the base game refuses to let you keep.

Don't want to wait? You can buy the bonus, but read the returns before you pick one.

You can buy 6 spins for 80x your bet, or 10 spins for 240x. Logically, the more expensive one should be better, right? Wrong. The 80x buy has an RTP of 96.27%, while the expensive 240x buy drops to 95.61%. The game prints both figures in its own rules panel, so it isn't hiding anything - it just means the pricier door is the worse one.

The Tempting Treats XPRESS panel offering a bonus buy at 80x, a Bonus Max at 240x and a 2x ante bet
Both doors side by side. Six spins for 80x or ten for 240x, and it's the cheaper one that carries the better return.

I tested both. The 80x buy basically broke even for me. The 240x buy was a total dud that barely clawed back half my money, and I didn't get a single multiplier spot past 53x. There's also an Ante Bet where you pay double your stake to guarantee a wild on every spin. It does what it says, and I got my wild on every ante spin I played, but the four I played paid nothing at all. The return barely shifts either: 96.18% against 96.16% for a normal spin. You're paying double for a guaranteed wild and a better shot at the scatters, and that's it.

My Verdict:

AvatarUX is sticking to their standard 10,000x max win here. It's a decent target, but remember that Sugar Rush does almost the exact same thing with a higher RTP (96.50%).

What Tempting Treats does incredibly well is that carry-over mechanic, it feels awesome to trigger the bonus and take a juiced-up board in with you. But the reality of playing it? You are going to sit through a lot of dead spins where nothing happens, just waiting for that rare cascade where the wild actually does her job. The 50x cap in the base game keeps you on a really tight leash, and the game's own numbers tell you the expensive bonus is the weaker of the two buys.

It's a clever game that builds a really cool bridge between the base game and the bonus... it just makes it way too hard to actually cross it.

The closing board of the Bonus Max round in Tempting Treats with a total of 122.80 and cell multipliers up to x53
240 in, 122.80 back. The best square on the board made it to 53 out of a possible 500, which tells you how far that ceiling really is.
