Pragmatic Play keeps mining one of its biggest franchises, and honestly, this time they actually added something worth talking about. Gates of Olympus Super Scatter takes the original 6x5 scatter-pays formula and bolts on a brand new symbol type that can pay up to 50,000x your bet in a single trigger.
The Super Scatter. That's the whole pitch.
When you land 4+ scatter symbols to trigger the bonus, any Super Scatter symbols in that combo award instant multiplied payouts. One Super Scatter in the mix pays 100x your total bet. Two of them? 500x. Three gets you 5,000x. And four Super Scatters in the triggering combo hands you the full 50,000x max win right there, no free spins needed.
If you've played the original Gates of Olympus, the core loop is unchanged. Match 8 or more identical symbols anywhere on the 6x5 grid to win. Tumble mechanic clears winning symbols, new ones drop in. Multiplier orbs (2x through 500x) can appear on any spin - they add up and multiply your total win for that cascade sequence.
The multiplier math is where this slot gets genuinely exciting. Stack a few 50x and 100x orbs in a single tumble chain and base game wins suddenly become significant. The Super Scatter symbol also appears during the base game, but it only pays out its special values when it's part of a 4+ scatter trigger combo.
Ante Bet runs at 1.5x your stake (30x total vs 20x) and increases the chance of landing scatter and Super Scatter symbols. It disables the Buy Bonus options, which is worth knowing. The standard Buy Bonus costs 100x for Free Spins, while the Super Free Spins option runs 500x and guarantees a minimum 10x multiplier to start.
At 500x buy-in for Super Free Spins, you're betting heavily that the bonus will deliver. That's a steep entry price even by Pragmatic standards.
Land 4+ scatters and you get 15 free spins. Three or more scatters during the round retrigger for +5 extra spins. Multiplier orbs accumulate throughout the entire bonus - they don't reset between spins. This is the same mechanic that made the original so popular with streamers.
One important detail: Super Scatter symbols do NOT appear during free spins. Their payouts happen exclusively at the trigger moment. So the free spins round itself plays identically to the original Gates of Olympus. Some players will find that disappointing.
Four jackpot tiers are available in the base game only. These are progressive and can trigger randomly. Pragmatic doesn't publish the seed values, but the four-tier structure follows their standard jackpot framework.
The Gates of Olympus franchise now includes the original (2021), Gates of Olympus 1000 with its boosted multipliers, the Xmas 1000 holiday variant, and this Super Scatter edition. Each one tweaks the formula slightly. The 1000 version pushed multipliers higher. Super Scatter pushes the instant-win ceiling higher.
For players who already liked the original, the Super Scatter mechanic adds genuine excitement to every trigger attempt. That moment when you see scatters landing and you're counting whether any of them are Super Scatters - that tension is real and it's new.
The criticism? Outside of the trigger mechanic, this is the same slot. Same symbols, same music, same Zeus animations. If you were hoping for a visual refresh or new bonus round structure, you won't find it here. Pragmatic clearly decided the math model change was enough, and for a 50,000x ceiling, they might be right.
